Mariah Morgan was happy that her daughter was home but she was nervous because she knew that her daughter had tasted blood and was starting to change. What was she going to do? How was she going to stop that from happening? Could she stop it? She prayed that she could but she knew that she couldn't.

"Mariah, I would advise you to send your little girl to Kansas to live with her only living relative. It is the only place where she will be safe from that boy. You know just as good as I do that he won't die." Mariah instantly shook her head. She wasn't going to send her daughter anywhere near her brother. Her brother was a monster, just like the rest of her family. She hadn't seen or talked to him in a very long time. She preferred to keep that haunting relationship in the past.

"I'm sorry but I can't send her there. I don't want to see her turned into a monster like him." The cop took a deep breath and sighed. He put his hands on Mariah's shoulders.

"I know that you don't want to send her there but...it's the only option right now. You knew that she would eventually become like you and your family. It was unavoidable. I'll call him if you want me to....."

"No. She's my daughter, therefore I'll call him." She seemed sad. She grabbed her cell phone, bit her lip, and nervously dialed her brother's phone number. It only rang once but it felt like a million years before he answered it.

"Mariah? Oh what happened?!!!! Is something wrong with you?" Mariah took a deep breath and sighed. Her brothers voice sounded full of concern.

"I have a daughter Hugh. And she has gotten into some trouble. I feel horrible having to call you out of the blue like this but I need my daughter to stay with you, where she's safe." It took her brother a while to respond, he was so shocked.

"Oh of course! I would love getting to spend some time with my beautiful little niece. Does she know anything about our heritage?" Mariah took a deep breath and sighed.

"No. I would prefer for it to stay that way. I don't want her to be turned into a monster. Is that understood?"

"Mariah, I will not keep her heritage from her if she asks about it. That would be wrong. But I will try to let her enjoy her innocence whilst she can. Contrary to your belief, I want her to enjoy normality as much as she can. I want her to enjoy the innocence that we were never allowed."

"Thank you brother. I appreciate it very much. I'm sorry that I left without a goodbye. I was just so worried when I became pregnant with a child.....I didn't want her to live as I did."

"I understand dear sister. Our father was quite a terrible man." Mariah bit her lip.

"When did he die brother?" Hugh took a deep breath and sighed.

"He died about a couple of months ago. That was why I tried calling you and calling you. Now what is the matter with that little daughter of yours?"

"She has her own stalker. Problem is, he is one of us."

"Awe! Her first stalker! Let me guess....it's Eric Marshall? Ah yes, I knew that one of Declan's sons would fall in love with her eventually, I just didn't know this much! It's so sweet!" Mariah rolled her eyes. She wasn't amused.

"She doesn't realize that. She still has the average mentality."

"She tried to kill him didn't she?" Mariah sighed.

"She did kill him in a way. She stabbed him in the heart with a knife."

"Really? Oh I'm so proud of her! Sounds like she's a carbon copy of you when you were younger. Ruthless, lovely, and perfect."

"I was never like that and neither is she! She is nothing if not normal."

"You cannot make her something that she clearly is not sister. It is wrong. Who does she belong to?"

"No one! That's not important right now."

"Sister....could it possibly be you know who? She isn't.....different in any way is she?"

"No. I couldn't ask for a more prefect little girl. She reminds me a lot of you."

"Is that supposed to be a good thing or is that a bad thing?"

"It's a very good thing. I watched it. She stabbed him multiple times. She loved it. Sadly. She's ruthless like you."

"Will you be coming with her? Please tell me that you will."

"Maybe I will later on. I just couldn't really deal with that right now. I'm not ready for that. Please take care of my little girl."

"I will darling sister. I'll treat her as if she is my own. I love you, dear sister." He said that with an edge to his voice. With that, she hung up the phone and the police left. She fell asleep on the couch, exhausted. She had been desperate enough to send her daughter to her brother......was it really the right thing to do? One thing was for sure, Mariah was desperate and she hoped and prayed that she hadn't just made a giant mistake.
