When Emily woke up, Eric was right on top of her as usual. There was also someone else in the room. He was smiling. Her mom was in her room! She instantly got up and hugged her mother. Her mother hugged her back.

"Hey sweetheart. How are you feeling? Are you feeling any better? I would certainly hope that you are. I heard about Alistair......I'm sorry for his arrogance." Emily looked at her. She bit her lip.

"Yes, he was definitely weird. He seemed.....familiar though. He seemed nice to me but be seemed to really hate Uncle Hugh and pretty much everyone else." Emily's mother laughed. She looked good and happy.

"Yes, he most certainly did. Alistair is jealous of my relationship with your uncle. He's always had.....quite the little crush on me." When her mother talked about him, she practically cringed inside. Emily didn't like this. She frowned.

"Well, he seems to be obsessive, extremely obsessive. His eyes were so fiery and passionate! It was almost as if he was trying to reach into my soul. I know that he was trying to read our minds." Emily's mother put her hands on her daughter's shoulders. She sighed.

"That means that he left his essence in you. I have no idea why he would do that though." Emily pulled her eyebrows together. Her mother seemed to be scared and worried.

"He put his essence in me? What does that mean?" Emily's mother smiled at her. She looked sad. She sighed.

"It means that he will protect you with his life." Emily didn't understand this at all. Why would he risk his life for her? Especially when he seemed to be extremely vain, arrogant, and cruel.

Eric walked up to Emily and smiled. He looked at her. He kissed her ever so gently. His kisses were always lovely. "He did that for the exact same reason I would, because I love you with all of my heart."

Emily smiled and started kissing Eric. Just then her uncle walked in and cleared his throat. Emily pulled away and glared at her uncle.

"Dang it Dad!" Uh-oh. Emily didn't mean to call him that it just came out. Hugh looked at her and sighed.

"You don't have to call me that if you don't want to darling." Emily looked at him and smiled.

"No, I want to call you that. You're the closest thing to a father that I've ever had." Hugh smiled and hugged her. She hugged him back. Her mother smiled. Her mother and her uncle looked close to tears.

Emily was enjoying her newly found perfect family. Everything was amazing. She loved it. Hugh held his arms open for her mother and Eric to join them. They did. Emily practically wanted to cry. She was so loved. Life for her could get any more perfect, even though it was extremely strange.
