Emily tried her best to stay awake so she wouldn't have any terrible nightmares about Eric. She hoped and prayed that she wouldn't. However, sleep eventually won over after the sun came up. Still, she could hear Eric prodding her on and on, torturing her in his terrifying and bone chilling way.

"I will come for you and you will eventually learn to love me Emaline. I love you." Emily looked at the road. She bit her lip and frowned.

"Just let me enjoy spending time with my uncle, alright? I mean I've never met him before and he seems nice." Eric laughed. It was meant to be friendly but to Emily, it just sounded mocking and cold.

"Not everything is as it seems Em. Remember that. Also, remember that I'm your friend, not your enemy. there is no escaping the love that we share. You could go to Antarctica and I would still find you." Man, talk about creepy.

"Oh Emmy! We're here. This is your hometown of Morgantown, Kansas. Beautiful, isn't it?" Emily bit her lip. Everything was prairie and grassland. It was beautiful, but only if you appreciated the smaller things in life and stopped to smell the roses. Emily wasn't sure if she did this or not.

Morgantown, Kansas was an extremely small town with a church, a general store, a school, and a park. The general store had a restaurant in it. There was only one road which was a small highway but not one that was travelled often. There was only one reason for folks to go through this town: passing by.

Emily didn't expect that she would like it this much. Even though the town was practically a totally different world from New York, she loved it. The townspeople were all out because it was a Sunday and they were headed to church. They all stopped and started at them as if they were some sort of terrifying monsters. Emily was confused by this.

"Why are the townspeople looking so strangely at us? I mean, they don't even know me and I'm pretty sure that you're the nicest person that I've ever met." Hugh smiled at her and sighed. There was an edge to his smile.

"Emily, the people in this town are pretty old fashioned. This small town has buried demons like any other small town." His face looked haunted. It almost scared Emily.

"Are you alright Uncle Hugh? I mean you look hurt." Hugh instantly changed his expression.

"I'm perfectly fine Emmy. Don't worry about me. Worry about how much you'll enjoy staying here with me. Much to your disbelief, I love you as if you were my own."

It took about another ten minutes before they reached their home. It was a beautiful Victorian looking home. It was white and well manicured and taken care of. It made Emily smile. She had dreamt of this place before. This was the house that she was born in. This was her home.

Emily grabbed one of her suitcases because her uncle had the rest. She followed him up the stairs to the back of the hall. She smiled when she saw her room. It had a bay window and faced the front of the house. Everything was beautiful.

"This room was your mother's. I know that it's a bit old fashioned but I hope that it's accommodating enough." Emily couldn't help herself. She just started crying hysterically. Her uncle looked at her and then hugged her. He gently stroked her hair. "Don't worry Emily, it's okay to cry. It doesn't make you weak, it shows that you're truly strong. Why don't you rest?"

Emily nodded. She laid down on her bed and smiled. She hugged a pillow and fell asleep instantaneously. Hugh smiled at Emily. She looked so innocent and beautiful. He walked off after whispering "I love you." She was the most perfect thing on the earth. The only thing that ruined her was her brown hair. It was an indication of exactly who her father was. A man that Hugh dared not to think about. A man that would do anything whatsoever to get what he wanted.
