Emily walked to the breakfast table. She sat across from Eric and next to her mom and her adopted father. Her father each gave them plates filled with satisfying things. She smiled. Her mother poured the blood and handed the glasses out.

Most people would find her family disgusting, maybe even appalling. She didn't find them disgusting at all. She found them perfect. Sure they weren't normal but being normal wasn't necessarily a good thing. It was certainly boring and mundane.

Eric volunteered to say the family prayer. While he said it, Emily wondered what his family was like. Were they nice and like him? He seemed like he came from a pretty good family. He finished and smiled at her.

"Are you admiring my beauty?" Emily rolled her eyes and smiled. She blushed.

"No, I'm admiring everything right now. I'm so happy now that I finally know what I am and I'm finally comfortable with it. Everything is perfect." Everyone smiled.

"I feel so terrible for taking you away from all of this Emily. Will you ever forgive me?" Emily looked at her mother.

"Of course I'll forgive you! I'll always forgive you! I love you." Emily took a bite of her food and then a sip of her drink. She smiled. Her uncle was a really good cook.

"So what do you children plan on doing after dinner?" Eric looked at Emily and smiled. He held her hand under the table.

"I think that we're going to go down to the basement. We can't let you adults have all the fun, now can we?" Hugh smiled.

"I always knew that I liked you Eric. You are quite a remarkable young man. I am proud that you are the one for my.....little girl." Emily smiled.

"Thank you sir. I appreciate it. Emily, are you almost ready to go down to the basement?" Emily took one last bite of her food and smiled. She followed Eric down to the basement. It was hard to believe that the last time she went to the basement she hated everything about what she was and her family and now she was the happiest person in the world despite what happened to her in the past few months. It had been crazy.
