Lucas got home today and we are finally having the chat. "I just want us to be completely open. I know that both of us are holding back." Lucas pulls me into his arms and says "That's what you were so worked up about you made me think something bad happened."

Lucas eventually lets me go then I hear the tub running. "Are you trying to get me to take a bath with you?" "Maybe?" I just shake my head "Please I see it in movies and it looks so romantic." I sigh while saying fine. He's such a romantic but in the most childish way. Kind of like a puppy.

We're sitting in the tub with two glasses of champange I had to beg Lucas to have. "So whats your favorite movie genre Huckleberry?" He puts his gkass diwn while saying "Ive always liked horror but lately I've been into action movies." I smile while staring into his soul. "So what was your childhood like Maya." I quickly finish my glass before answering this question. "It was sub par. My dad left me and my mom when I was around 6. My mom was busting her ass to pay off bills and I didn't know so I asked for music lessons around then. My mom being the angel she is started working more to afford them. I started to think my mom ddin't care about me because she was never around.

That's when I met Riley. I ran into her window. Oh yeah also I saw my dad every month. But whenever I did see him him and my mom would always argue. That's also why I went to Riley's to escape the noise. Riley's life was like a dream compared to mine. As I got older I started seeing my dad less and less. The visits eventually stopped when I turned ten. Six years later my mom met shawn. Which is Riley's uncle. My life changed a lot after they met. We weren't struggling anymore. That's also around the time I started my Youtube chanel. Around a year later when my chanel blew up my dad contacted me asking for money. I said no of course. And yeah. My life is like this now." I look at Lucas and he looked intrested in my life.

It was silent for a long time. "I know my life was fucked up." "It's just that I always thought that our lives were alike and now that you're telling me this it made me realize that I was lucky." I smile. "Tell me your story." "My dad left as soon as I was born. But he left everything that made him money. My mom eventually met someone knew he knocked her up and she got pregnant. He left her too. Then five years after that the same thing happened but with a different guy. My mom eventually settled down and had my baby sister who is now 16." "Oh so what I'm hearing is that you were just dealing with douchebags your whole life." Lucas just nods.

"You know what on my new album I wrote a song just for you. Oh and by the way if you don't start working harder I might dump you. I'm honestly so sorry. But I get tired of people easily and not to be rude but it's kind of happening."

I play the song while walking out of the bathroom.

I hear Lucas yell in the bathroom. "What the fuck Maya. You can't just say that too me then walk away."

"Fine then I'm just going to be fully honest. This relationship is just physical. And I honestly don't want to even call this a relationship because it's starting to seem unhealthy. And I'm sorry if my honesty hurts your feelings."

"We both know your not in the right mindset right now. Call me later when you get home."

I walk to his bedroom door and I look back and say "don't depend on it."

After three hours of laying in my bed thinking if u made the right decision or not. Lucas calls me.

L - hi

M - hi

There is a thirty second pause

L - did you mean what you said

M - yeah. I meant most of it

L - so we don't have a chance at all

M - I don't know anymore

L - can I come over and talk to you

M - I don't know if that's the best idea. I'm just going to say all the thing you want to hear if you do.

L - please Maya. I've never really felt this way about someone. Just please let me talk to you

M - you have an hour

I run to Riley's room. "Riley I'm so lost and confused and-" I break down in tears.

Someone holds me in their arms and it's not Riley. I finally look up and it's Farkle. "I love you Farkle. I love you so much." "You already know I love you Maya. Now tell me what's wrong."

"I kind of broke up with Lucas. And now he's coming over to talk. But I don't really know what I want. And it's really stressful but I don't know maybe we took it too fast."

"Hey let's just go down stairs and gets you some water."

We both head downstairs and sit at the dining room table. I scoot Farkles chair closer to mine and I lay my head on his shoulder. He pats my head while playing with my hair.

"I think you should just be friends in my opinion. If a relationship ever makes you feel stressed maybe you should just take a break."

"You're so smart." He holds me in his arms.

He kisses my forehead.

"I'm jealous of riley." I say while smiling. "And I'm jealous of Lucas."

"And you're only saying that to be nice."

"I wish I was." Farkle responds

"Ooo I'm telling riley." I joke around.

Farkle peppers my face in kisses.

"Im going to go outside and take breather. Thank you Farkle."

He just waves

I get outside and Lucas is there. I smile sympathetically.

He gets out of his car wearing sunglasses.

"Why are you wearing sunglasses Huckleberry?" Lucas shakes his head while saying. "Don't call me that. I know what's coming."

I nod. That's fair. "I just think it's best if we're friends for right now. Things are just really rushed with us. And I think it's best if we just give us a fair shot and start over as friend and just friends for now."

"Oh thank god I thought you were going to say something worse than that. I just want you in my life maya. You mean a lot to me."

Lucas hold me in his arms and I lay my head on his shoulder and he lays his head on top of mine. I sniffle a little bit. Me and Lucas had a good run.

We sit like that for about an hour until Lucas says. "You've got to let me go Maya." "I don't want to." Lucas rubs my back trying to coax me into letting him go. I take in a long breathe.

"Maya calm down. It's not that big of a deal I'll see you Friday okay?" I just nod still not letting go. "You have to let go." I slowly let go. Lucas wipes my tears then gets in his car. "See you soon." I just wave.

I get inside and I slam the door and whine. "Farkle." He hugs me. "It's okay. It's for the best." I sigh. "Can we just eat ice cream and cuddle all night." He just nods.
