A heavy wave of uncertainty hit Alicia. What was she supposed to do now, in a room full of people who were not only strangers but also undeniably famous?

"uhh, hi."

Alicia spun around at the sudden voice behind her. Her eyes were wide and frightened and he noticed immediately.

Alicia tried to say something, but no words came out. She was always awkward in these situations. she was shy by default and feared introductions, which was probably why she was so on-edge now.

Only then did she realize who the owner of the voice was. He was broad-shouldered and strong, but there was some gentleness beneath him that he let everyone see.

"Oops," Aaron smiled sheepishly. "Sorry."

She didn't know what to say. She never knew what to say. "Um, it's fine," she replied, it was the only thing she could think of.

"well, before i scared you, i was going to introduce myself." He was still smiling, and all Alicia could do was stare at him and over think what she was supposed to say next. "i'm one of the three Aaron's on this team."

she wanted to say 'i know' but that sounded too creepy, and she wouldn't have the nerve to say it anyway. "Alicia Reyes." She grinned at him, and as he watched her with that stupid smile on his face, he could feel his heart thumping a little faster than it had before she'd walked in.

"Beat it, Aaron"

Alicia already knew that voice was Giancarlo's. Aaron turned back to her with a smile, so clearly Stanton hadn't meant to sound menacing. This must have happened before.

"I'll see you out there, i guess?" A laugh escaped his lips as he jabbed his thumb back behind him, pointing to the door that led to the dugout.

she nodded, grinning. Her voice couldn't have worked if it tried.

Aaron disappeared with a group of some of the other players. Giancarlo stepped in front of her view Aaron.

"So, is this unreal as i'd imagine you might think this is?"

Alicia's attention was now on him, her smile gone with Aaron. "yeah," she said quitly

Right then, a bald man stepped out from the depths of the locker room, as if he was coming to save her. He made his way to Stanton and clapped him loudly on the back. "C'mon, lover boy, you're my catching partner, remember?"

The term 'loverboy' was confusing. Although Giancarlo has flirted with her once, it was hard for her to believe that he could possibly be interested in her. It was hard for her to believe that anyone would be.

Giancarlo rolled his eyes. "Wow thanks, Brett

Alicia hadn't been paying much attention to Brett, but she obviously knew who he was almost immediately. "Hi, i'm Alicia," she said, completely ignoring Giancarlo. She stuck her hand out to shake, and Brett took it.

It was completely stupid for her to introduce herself after Aaron Boone had just introduced her to the entire team, but that aside, Alicia was proud that she had temporarily taken a somewhat outgoing step.

"Brett Gardener," he replied, smiling kindly. "Excuse Giancarlo and the rest of these idiots. When Boone said that a new assistant was hired, he never inferred that assistant would be a-"

"- curvy latina!" Giancarlo cut in. He grinned at Alicia. Despite the fact that Stanton's aliging personality and over all presence made her slightly uncomfortable, she found it funny.

Brett flushed red. "I'm sorry." he apologized

"It's okay." Alicia didn't mind at all, actually, She brushed a few curls subconsciously out of her face.

"I'm going to drag him out of here before he does something even stupider," Brett said quickly, clutching Stanton's shoulder. He continued, "you"ll be great today!"

"Thanks." Alicia waves slightly as he pulled Giancarlo called before disappearing through the door.

"See you, g," she mimicked, laughing a little. Then she remembered the papers she'd left on Boone's desk, and had talked to him about paperwork.
