"This one, right?"

"Yeah, this house is mine." Alicia opened the passenger side door. She looked back into the car. "Thank you guys. All of you. Tonight was... really great. It means a lot that y'all thought of me."

"Anytime, peach," Didi grinned. "We love youuuu."

A chorus of guys singing "love you" rang out through the car, causing her to laugh. She closed the door and hesitated before she started to walk back to her house.

"Wait! Alicia!" Giancarlo call out through the window. She stopped, surprised. Giancarlo turned to Aaron, staring at him meaningfully.

"What?" He asked, glancing around at everyone.

"Walk her to her door," Didi said.

"What? No!" Aaron felt warmth spread across his face. He noticed that Alicia was standing there, awkward and confused.

"Do it."

"No!"

The backseat door opened, Miguel and Gleyber did there best to shove him out of the car. They then closed to door behind him. To watch Aaron run a nervous hand through his hair.

"Hi," he said, shy.

"Hi," she replied. "What was that about?"

"Nothing, nothing at all." He gave her a smile. "Here, let me walk you to you, uh, house."

She turned her face away to hid her smile. She stayed quite as they started walking up her stairs, she didn't know what he wanted her to say and what she could possibly say.

"Um, so... would you want to some... time..." Aaron put his hand in his pockets. He couldn't get the right words out. And she was so beautiful and he didn't know how to say that to her.

She didn't want to interrupt him, but a very small part of her thought that maybe he was about to ask her out. Her heart started beating faster and faster at the thought of that.

"Would you want to.." when he looked at her, the words died in his throat and he knew right then he would never to be able to ask her out. "Go over some of your notes? Strategies, maybe?"

"Oh," Alicia could feel her heart sinking. "I'm sorry, Aaron. That's confidential. You an active player, I can't show you that.."

"Oh, cool, gotcha." To avoid her gaze, Aaron glanced back at the car. Their friends were smiling and giving them cheerful thumbs-up. He shook his head slightly before meeting her eyes again. "Have a good night, A. Boone told you we're flying to D.C. tomorrow morning for makeup games against the nats, right?"

"Yeah." Her phone buzzed in her pocket, reminding her of what she was about to say. "I'll text you tomorrow?"

He smiled down at her, his chest swelling at her previous statement. "Okay."
