No means No

      Prologue 

I know what's coming as he opens his mouth "I Samuel Blackwood, Alpha of the Whitecap Pack refuse you Daniel Cole as my mate. No means No" I feel like I've been punched in the gut. Black spots appeared in front of my eyes, I tried to pull air into my lungs and force my legs to move.  I staggered outside where my brother and best friend were waiting for me.  I shake my head trying to clear my head. I hear a shout and the world went black.

"Dan, Danny please wake up" I groan and I heard feet move towards me.  

I opened my eyes and groan again as my head is pounding. I reached up and feel a bandage around my head. 

"Daniel, thank goodness" my Mum kisses my cheek and I feel her lips tremble. 

"I'm fine Mum come here" I gather her in my arms and hold her. 

"I'll never forgive him Daniel" she whispers.  

I pat her back ignoring the pain that blooms in my chest. 

"I'm okay Mum really, I am" I stroke her back and she gives me another squeeze. 

"I've made arrangements, for you to visit my friend and stay with her pack.  Stay there for as long as you need son" she informs me.  

My Mum has always been a strong woman, she's had to be, my Dad who was Alpha of this pack and died in a Rogue attack when I was five. I don't remember him that much but the doctor's said my brain had shut the memory of watching my father getting ripped to pieces by three rogues, away. 

My brain had decided that it was best to lock it away so I could function.  Since then it was just the three of us Jason my younger brother, Mum and me.  She has always been there for us, making the hard decisions so we could live as freely as we wanted.  

My Mum has always told us that she will love us no matter what, be it that we wanted to dye our hair rainbow coloured, or become a monk she will always love us. When I found out I preferred boys to girls I told her and she said "OK, son I look forward to meeting your mate and welcoming another son into the family." 

That is the kind of wonderful mother I have. 

"When do I leave Mum?" I asked her.  

I look at my brother and my best friend Lizzy, only I call her Daisy as she reminds me of a spring meadow filled with daisy's.  We have been friends since preschool.  

"You can go as soon as your ready" my Mum tells me. 

"I'm coming with you" Daisy says and touches my cheek.  

I take her hand "do you really want to get out of this place that much?" I smile at her.  

She nods her head quickly making us laugh, the doctor walks into the room.

"Good afternoon Dan, glad to see you awake" he says. 

He bows his head to my Mum showing her respect as a past Luna. 

"How long was I out?" I ask he gives me look that I can't read.

"A week, when you passed out you hit your head hard, the gash in your head wouldn't close at first so I had to put stitches in.  Then you slowly started showing signs of improvement.  I can take the stitches out now do a few tests and then if everything is clear you can go home" he tells me.  

I look at my Mum and mouth sorry, she shakes her head but Jason puts his arm around her shoulder.  He is younger than me by two years but is taller than me.  

Doctor Dave has told me that the shock of seeing my Dad die, coursed the alpha gene I carry to also shut down.  He has always told me that one day it will re-awaken and when it did, I would go through some major changes.  I'm still waiting for that to happen though.

"Could you all give us a moment please, it won't take long" he asks.  

My family look at me then leave's the room, "this won't take long Dan" he tells me as he unwraps my head.   

He takes a scalpel and cuts out the stitches "good as new, follow my finger. 

As he starts to move his finger he leans in close to my ear "your Mum told me that your going away.  Leave today, I've spoken to your Mum's friend.  The alpha gene has been awoken and the in the next week, two at the most you are going to go through some very big changes. It's going to hurt like hell.  But I know your strong enough to take it.  Your heart might stop I'm kind of hoping it does" I try turning my head to look at him. 

But he holds my head "if it does you won't hurt as you do now I believe. Good luck Dan I'm looking forward to meeting the new you" he leans back and looks at me smiles and winks. 

"Your good to go Dan" he pats my leg and leaves the room.  

My family comes back in I look at my Mum and she gives a little nod of her head.  Letting me know that she has spoken to doctor Dave and knows what's happening. 

 "Daisy do you think you can be ready to leave in an hour. I want to leave this place as soon as I can" I ask. 

Daisy jumps onto the bed and hugs me tight. 

"Already packed, Dix's" she tells me. 

I get dressed and we leave the hospital, when we are all in the car and driving away from the hospital.  My Mum takes a hold of my hand with her free one, "I have your stuff packed in the boot.  Your flight leaves in two hours, we will go to the airport have an early lunch and then see you off.  My friend May runs the largest pack in America, Phoenix, she has everything sorted for you to finish school there and help you with the changes that will happen.  All the paperwork has been sorted.  Alpha didn't say anything when I told him what I had decided" she squeezes my hand.  

I smile back at her "I'll be good Mum don't worry.  I have Daisy, I'm just sorry about everything" I tell her squeezing her hand back. 

"Nonsense, you my boy have done nothing wrong. One day he will see first hand how great you are and then be truly sorry" she tells me.  

We park in the car park at the airport and take out our luggage.  

 Daisy can't stop bouncing on the balls of her feet as she walks towards the entrance, my Mum and Brother smile at my eye roll.  We check in our luggage and go and grab some lunch.  

I eat as my Mum will worry if I don't. 

"Jas' please take care of Mum for me, I'm sorry I won't be there for you both" I say feeling as though, I have really let them both down this time. 

"Bro, I'm a big boy now. I can look after myself and Mum just fine.  I've started to help out the coach after school with the younger kids and he's paying me. With that and my weekend job at the restaurant we'll be good" he assures me. 

Mum has been promoted at work twice in the last two years and now yearns a good salary but I worry about them still. 

"Love you Daniel, we'll Skype and keep in touch" Mum says hugs me at the security check-in.

"Love you Mum, thank you for everything" I give her a finial hug and then hug my brother 

"Don't worry, I hope things go well for you" my brother assures me again. 

"Thanks Jas'" we wave and then go through the security check-in. 

"This is our new beginning Dix's, let's go take on the good old U.S.A" Daisy says putting her arm around my waist and walking us towards a future that neither of us can see. I place my arm around her slim shoulders and laugh with her.
