Request- "Would it be possible for you to write an Alma Peregrine x reader, where the children try to get the reader and miss P together?" request by Gayllamafromspace

A/N: My first time writing a reader fic so go easy on me xD

Movieverse

Emma, Bronywn, Claire, and Jake stand in the kitchen by the window, watching you and Alma casually talking by the large tree by the pond. You pretend not to notice them or the way they seem to be huddled together, conspiring. Just for fun, you decide to use your peculiarity to knock over a mug next to them. You let yourself grin as you see them all scrurry away to conspire elsewhere.

oOoOoOo

Claire jumps up onto the couch in the  parlor, huffing loudly. Bronywn joins her, giving her own huff.

"What's the matter?" Emma asks, though she knows what's on their mind. It's on hers too.

"It's Miss P and (Y/N)," Claire tells Emma, crossing her arms and shuffling back onto the couch so her feet are only just hanging off the couch.

"What about them?" Jake asks, oblivious as ever. He takes a seat beside Bronywn.

"They're in love!" Bronywn exclaims happily as she flashes a toothy smile, one of her front teeth missing.

"Really?" Jake asks. "Is that why we were watching them from the window?"

"Of course," Emma says, "why else would we be watching them?"

"I don't know," Jake answers. "Bird watching?"

"That's not funny," Emma rolls her eyes, hitting him on the arm.

"Sorry," Jake apologises, not the least bit sorry, "anyways, if they're in love, why haven't they done anything about it?"

Bronywn and Claire share looks, considering it. Emma scoffs as if it's obvious.

"Well, they obviously don't know the other likes them back!" She explains to the expectant looks. "Look, the point is, we have to help them. So, who's with me?"

Jake casts a look at Bronwyn and Claire who smile and nod encouragingly at him and mentally, he groans. He's sure he's going to regret this, but he can't say no to Emma.

"Fine," he agrees, "I'll help you get Miss P and (Y/N) together."

"Thank you," Emma smiles gratefully and ruffles his hair before stomping out of the room with her weighted shoes to fetch the others.

oOoOoOo

Truthfully, Jake doesn't really think the others have thought out their plan properly. He's sure Enoch thinks so too, but just isn't saying anything, waiting to see how it will all to play out.

Sighing, Jake sits back and listens as Emma tells Hugh and Fiona what their role in the plan is. He knows they'll all be in trouble if none of this goes well.

"Got it?" Emma asks Hugh and Fiona.

"Got it," the pair nod.

With a mock salute from Hugh, the two rush off out into the backyard to 'play'. That's the equivalent of their role in it, really. They simply have to play in the garden near the lake and accidentally tumble into (Y/N), knocking her into said lake. Then, the children believe Miss P will heroically dive in and save (Y/N). After that, the two will miraculously get together like the children want.

Like Jake had said, it wasn't a really well thought out plan and he can't wait for it to go to shit. Then maybe they'll think of another plan that won't involve nearly drowning (Y/N).

Jake watches by the window with Bronwyn on one hip so she can see, as Hugh and Fiona run around the yard with the former's bees following them. He sees Miss P and (Y/N) stood by a tree watching them with a smile. He almost feels bad for what's about to happen.

In the yard, Hugh and Fiona end up dangerously close to Miss P and (Y/N) who now seem oblivious to them. They're deep in conversation, caught up in one another and now Jake can see what Emma was talking about. They're in love.

Everything happens smoothly for a few minutes, Hugh and Fiona innocently playing in the yard as Miss Peregrine and (Y/N) talk until suddenly, Fiona trips over a branch on the ground and falls into Hugh, who thus falls into (Y/N), sending them stumbling backwards, unable to catch themselves.

There is a panicked yell from Miss P herself, a cry that not even any of the have heard before, as (Y/N) falls backwards and ultimately goes splashing into the lake.

Jake's eyes widen slightly, not having expected it all to play out like that. From what he can tell, as Hugh and Fiona profusely apologise to Miss P, they hadn't even meant to do it yet. It had actually been an accident.

The children in the kitchen gather closely around the window as Miss P, Hugh, and Fiona wait by the lake for (Y/N) to appear.

They don't.

And that's when Miss P shucks off her jacket, revealing a simple silk blouse underneath, and hurriedly removed her shoes. She dives into the water and disappears for a few seconds before she reappears again with (Y/N) in her arms.

As soon as (Y/N) breaks the surface, they start coughing and hacking, water spilling from their lips.

From the kitchen, Jake lets out a breath he hadn't even been aware he was holding. From beside him, Emma does the same.

Miss P gently sits (Y/N) down on the floor and joins her, brushing wet hair out of their eyes.

"Are you all right, dear?" She asks (Y/N).

(Y/N) nods, "yeah, just, uh, breathed in some water, I think."

Hugh and Fiona share guilty looks, but decidedly remain quiet to let the older peculiars talk.

"I thought perhaps I'd lost you," Miss Peregrine admits quietly, taking (Y/N)'s cold hand in her own.

"You could never lose me," (Y/N) laughs, prompting a smile from the ymbryne.

The pair remain silent for a while, content to simply watch each other carefully, but there seems to be something unsaid between them. Something that neither of them are willing to say.

That is, until (Y/N) makes the first move, slowly inching forward and giving Miss Peregrine the chance to back away should she want to. She doesn't.

(Y/N) pressed their lips to Miss Peregrine's, eyes slipping closed as their hand reaches up and tangles in the former's black hair.

Unable to remain quiet anymore, Hugh and Fiona cheer for the couple, giving each other a relieved hug, causing Miss P and (Y/N) to pull away from each other with flushed cheeks. In the kitchen, the other peculiar children applaud them too.

Jake remains flabbergasted, unable to comprehend the fact that their plan filled with multiple plot holes actually worked. Still, a smile reaches his face, at least Miss P has finally found her happiness. He shakes his head and puts Bronwyn down to give Emma a hug.

"I told you it would work," she says, pulling away from him.

"I suppose you're right," Jake admits with a sheepish laugh.

His eyes are drawn to movement through the window and he sees Miss P offering (Y/N) a hand to help them up. They accept and link theirs and Miss P's hands, starting the journey up the garden to the house.
