"I just don't want you to die."

"I'm not going to die," Craig said, patting the top of my head which made me blush.

I could feel his body tense when I hugged him but soon relaxed as time went on.

"I'm not going to let you get taken away either."

I blushed even harder, did he really mean that?

"Promise?" I asked, still hugging Craig tightly.

"Promise."

I couldn't help but smile at what he said, it made me happy, it really did.

"Aren't you hungry?"

Now that he mentioned it, I was pretty hungry.

"Yeah."

"Let's go get some food."

"How?" I was still buried in Craig's chest.

I didn't want to move away, it felt so nice and so warm.

"We hunt."

"That's too much work," I whined which made Craig show a small smile.

"Come on." Craig patted my head once again, I let him go and looked at him in his eyes.

I haven't even noticed how beautiful his blue eyes were.

They reminded me greatly of water, I just wanted to swim in them forever.

The rest of the day we spent hunting animals for food, laughing and just having a good time together.

Craig honestly wasn't a bad person, I actually genuinely enjoyed his company.

"Shall we set up camp?" Craig asked, stopping.

It was already nighttime, and at this point, I was ready to rest.

"Please," I responded.

"Just sit there."

I was confused, did he not want me to help?

Whatever. I did what he said and waited for him to set up the camp.

Once he did, I got a fire going, sitting down near the fire to warm me up once I was finished.

Craig sat down right next to me, I could feel his body warmth radiating off his body.

He was so close, it made me blush.

I got a tad bit closer to the fire, it was cold out and I just wanted to be warm.

I was still wearing a light dress so that didn't help at all.

Craig seemed to notice because the next thing I knew, I felt a blanket or something surround itself around my shoulders.

I looked at Craig, it was his cape that he gave to me.

I blushed even harder.

I managed to mutter small thanks, wrapping the cape around my body to help keep myself warm.

"Look who it is." Craig and I jumped by the sudden voice that came from behind us.

We turned around, it was some sort of boy.

He had brown hair, a red jacket with a blue cape that wrapped around his neck and extended down past his knees.

"What do you want?" Craig asked, standing up as quick as he can.

He started reaching for his pouch to pull out something. Could it be the stick?

"Craig, don't" You whispered to Craig, hoping that the intruder wouldn't hear.

Craig let out a small growl but he didn't move his hand from his pouch.

"You know, I was sent by the Grand Wizard to kill you." The man walked closer to us, sword in his hand.

"I won't let you do this, Clyde." Craig spat at him.

So, his name is Clyde.

Clyde moved his eyes on my body.

"Is this Y/n?" Clyde asked, licking his lips while staring at me.

"Don't you dare." Craig moved in your way, blocking Clyde's path towards me which made you feel a little safer.

"Just wait till I bring you to the Grand Wizard, or at least your head." Clyde started walking towards us.

"I'll hunt you forever if I have to, I must never disobey the Grand Wizard like you did."

All of a sudden Clyde was gone, almost like he vanished into thin air but that wasn't the case.

Clyde appeared right in Craig's face kicking him to the ground.

"Did you forget about my agility." Clyde finally looked back at you and smiled a creepy smile.

"How did you guys even manage to escape anyway?"

We didn't answer.

"You must have something that can be used for that. Magic somehow?" Clyde eyed Craig as he said that.

I think he's onto us. I think he knows.

Craig gets up and tried to grab your hand only to be stopped by Clyde again.

"Don't touch her." Clyde spat in Craig's face with a devious smirk.

"You know what, what if I just take Y/n and you can stay alive if you allow me to take her."

Craig, who was still on the ground, grabbed your ankle, teleporting us away from danger.

I dropped to my knees, we were in some sort of forest now.

Tears started forming in my eyes, I was so scared.

"Craig..." I said quietly, starting to cry.

Craig rushed up towards me, holding me in his arms as he has done before.

I feel bad that he always has to see me cry, I've never cried this much in my life, I've been so scared lately of everything that I just can't help it.

"I'm so scared," I whispered to Craig, he held me tighter once I said that.

"I know, believe me, I am too." Craig rested his head on top of my head with my face nuzzled into his chest.

I continued to cry into his chest, I couldn't help myself all of this is just so much for me.

"I did promise to keep you safe."

That was true he did promise to keep me safe.

"He'll be back for us," I said quietly, I felt him nod his head on top of my head.

"Why can't we just be safe for one night." My tears came out more and more the more I thought about it.

"I don't know. We have every being in Zaron searching for us."

That was true, we were never safe, there is nowhere for us to go at this point.

"Could we stay at one of those villages where humans and elves live together?" I asked.

"We could." There was a short pause after that, was it a bad thing?

Whatever it was I didn't think about it anymore.

My eyes became droopy and heavy, I couldn't keep them open at this point.

I leaned in closer to Craig, I closed my eyes for a second but I didn't open them till the next morning.

For I had fallen asleep in Craig's arms.
