Sunset

Shen Yue watched the sundown at the horizon, a perfectly blended color of rich hues of bloody red, crimson and tangerine. Half of it submerged in the ocean and half was looking at her as if telling her it's time to rest if she's exhausted.

The stillness of the sky only intensified the voidness she felt inside.

How could this beautiful creation always gives her sadness?

How could the calmness of the sky gives turmoil to her mind?

What if, she'll pretend that sunsets doesn't exist? Would it erase the memories that she wants to forget?

"Shen Yue!"Someone called her.

She instantly recognized the voice without looking at her back.

"Dylan, how did you find me? Shen Yue asked.

" I will always find you Yue, always.. " Dylan answered as he stride forward and sit beside her.

Silence enveloped them as they both watched the sunset together.

As the quietness grows deeper, Yue felt cold, it made her blood as cold as ice that crept into the window on a rainy night.

She felt awkward sitting beside him not talking.

"Didi, have you heard that after 1000 lifetimes you will be reincarnated as the same person you are today? You will meet the same people you meet on this lifetime and experience the same events. I hope that I will meet you again Dy." Shen Yue said to Dylan

Dylan chuckled and said " Aiyoo Shen Yue! Are you sure that you will be reincarnated as you? What if you will be a pig after 1000 lifetimes? I will never be inlove with a pig. Never! He jokingly teased Yue.

"I will find you Yue and choose you, still." He suddenly said disrupting her terrain of thoughts.

Yue glanced at him and smiled.

Dylan smiled back. He flashed his most arresting smile to her.

His smile is a ray of sunshine and she is the sunburn. She thought.

"Dy, do you know that sunset reminds me of you?" She fornlonly said.

"I know. His smile disappeared as he look at her. " Yue, please don't come here if you're sad. I don't like looking at your hunch back everytime I found you. Is remembering me that sad?? Dylan asked.

"A lifetime without you is the saddest Dy. " she said and sadly smiled.

Dylan looked at the dark sky. The darkness of the night slowly creeping into his bleak heart.

He sighed. "Let's go home Yue" he stand up and slowly walked away.

"Didi, this will be my last time coming here. I'm moving on Dy. I won't see you and think of you anymore. I'm finally letting you go. I can't unloved you but I will try " Shen Yue said as her tears are running down her face.

"Yue, I'll be the happiest man if you do that. Just so you know, my love for you will never cease. I will love you with all my lifetime. But for now I want you to let go. Find your happiness. Dylan said without looking at her.

" Didi, promise me something. Please find me on your 1000 lifetime. And do meet me on a sunset so I could look at it again without feeling sad. Can you promise me that we will grow old together in that lifetime?

" I promise Yue, i will find you. I love you and goodbye Yue" Dylan said as he slowly vanished from Shen Yue's vision.

Today, marks the 4th death anniversary of Dylan. Four years ago today Dylan and Shen Yue was on their honeymoon in London. But tragic accident happened when their car collided with a 10 wheeler truck. Dylan died right away and Shen Yue was in coma for a year. Rescuers found Dylan covered his whole body protecting his wife. His heart was struck by a metal that caused his untimely demised. It happened while the sun is setting down. The color of the sky and his blood was the last memory of Dylan that Shen Yue saw before she closed her eyes.

For three years straight after she was discharged from the hospital, Yue without a miss visit Dylan's favorite place. The same place that Dylan proposed to her and promise her forever.

"Till we meet again my moon" she faintly heard as she closed her eyes as emptiness embraced her.

" Till we meet again, my sunset. She whispered.
