You may be wondering why Pery remembers Annabeth's name. He remembered here because he was so madly in love with Annabeth that when Hera tries to steal his memories she couldn't take his memories away because of his connection to the Greek world through Annabeth.

CHAPTER 2

Percy's POV

It had taken all my energy to communicate with Annabeth but for some reason I had a feeling of new power after talking to her. Then I remembered why.

Yesterday, Lupa had told me and the other Roman demi-gods a story. She told about how one could share some of their powers with another. I had listened very intently and did the process with Annabeth. I was sure it had worked because I could tell I was smarter. All the things that I had never understood in math suddenly made perfect sense to me. I just hoped that the same had happened with Annabeth.

I hadn't told any of the other Roman campers about me doing this or there being a Greek camp at all. I pretended I didn't know anything and played dumb. They had not figured out that I was a son of Poseidon or as they call him Neptune, but I knew they would soon.

I had been able to view Annabeth's dreams ever since I got here. I felt so horrible because I couldn't do anything but watch her frantic dreams about trying to find me and the last kiss I had given her that night of the swamp. I knew all about Hera's plans because I could see into Annabeth's dreams. I knew they were coming to the Roman camp in the Argo 2, and I knew about the prophecy.

Well anyway... When I woke up I heard someone coming. I hurriedly got up and started getting dressed. I knew if they saw that I was not all dressed and ready that I would get in trouble. I learned that my first day. That was how I got my first black eye. The one I had right now was new.

"Well well well! Look what we have here. I think someone needs a lesson on promptness don't you think Percy?" Lupa growled

I sighed as I prepared myself once again.
