The ride back in the taxi was silent. It wasn't the awkward silence where both of us craved to add forced noises to fill the atmosphere. It was more of the kind where no words were needed or wanted to be shed until it was just us alone.
I would feel Lisa take short glances to me but I had no will to face her. I've said what I had to say now it was her turn to decide if she was going to speak or not.
Making our way inside my house, Lisa had gently took my wrist and brought us to the living room. She silently seats us down beside each other in the couch and takes my hand in hers. We both lower our gazes and focused them on our fingers that were naturally playing with each other. She takes a deep breath before adjusting her body to somewhat face me.
"Well, first off, I like you too," She suddenly says causing my eyes to widen. I feel my heart thump a million times faster than usual as I lift my gaze and noticed her softly and adoringly staring at me. I blush and begin to speak but she continued,
"And, the reason I was avoiding you was because I was, umm.." she awkwardly clears her throat and fidgets in discomfort before averting her eyes away again.
"I was jealous," she suddenly states. I furrow my eyebrows and scoot closer to her as I stared at her strangely,
"Jealous? Jealous of what?" I ask. She bites her lips nervously and forces herself to look at me,
"I saw you and that creature hug," She says. Creature? What creature— oh. Suddenly remembering seeing a silver hair girl run back into the library, I realized It wasn't in my head. Lisa had seen Kai and I hugging and assumed the worst. I giggly lightly while tightening my hold on her hand. I lift my free hand and placed it on her cheek. I gently turn her face to me and smiled,
"You're extremely cute and irritating when you're jealous you know that?" I playfully ask. She scoffs and blushes in embarrassment and goes to speak but I had swiftly kissed her cheek and pulled away. I giggled even more seeing the blush in her cheeks darken,
"Kai and I hugged yes, but it was a goodbye hug. I told him I no longer loved him in anyway and said that it was best that we no longer see or speak to each other," I stated causing her mouth to open in an 'O' shape as she nods her head in understanding. I chuckle and but playfully narrowed my eyes while placing both my hands on her cheeks and pinching harshly causing her to whine in pain,
"You owe me for ignoring me you damn Siren," I point out. She snaps my hands away and rubs her cheeks while glaring at me,
"What do you want you sea witch?" She asks while both of us chuckled but she suddenly looked wary as she notices my expression slowly turn serious.
"I want answers Lisa and please don't play dumb because I know that you know what I'm talking about," I pleaded. She looks away from my and clasps her hands together,
"I don't know Jennie," She says. I sigh and gently placed my hand over hers. She looks at me as I stared at her with so much softness in my eyes,
"Please," I whisper. She remains silent for a moment before lifting her head and turning to me. She sighs and nods while taking my hand with both of her and rubbing her thumb soothingly on my knuckles. She looks down,
"You remember when I told you how my parents were killed because sirens weren't allowed to love each other?" Lisa asks as she lifts her gaze towards mine. I could only nod my head, not wanting to or knowing what to say.
"I lied, that wasn't the reason," she confesses. I stare at her and frowned as she began to tremble lightly.
"Yes, both of them loved each other but there was no way for sirens to make babies. And so they begged a sea witch to create me. However, she warned them that I will have feelings no Siren can ever feel," she says. She gulps nervously and holds my hand tighter,
