She-Ra and the Shitposts of Power

HOLY SHIT (S3 Spoilers and Thoughts!)

Just finished watching Season 3 of She-Ra and

Where do I even begin?

Gosh, uh, I don't even know, so I'll just start from where I want to, I guess

1. Hordetrapta

Ok, never thought this would happen

But is it weird that I kinda liked it?

Like at first I was like oh hell naw this isn't happening but we have to remember Entrapta's canonically older than all the other princesses (at least she's old enough to evade taxes) so once I kinda got past my initial shock and he told his whole backstory I had two reactions

A. Hordak's a clone???
Hordak's backstory was wild, but it makes sense in a weird sort of way. Especially because his need to prove himself to Hordak Prime is exactly like Catra trying to prove herself to Hordak all last season, only to be told she was a mistake and a failure. Furthermore, Hordak himself believes he's a failure, making him probably more like Catra than Shadow Weaver is and I was not ready for that parallel

B. Entrapta and Hordak's little moment
So this is kind of piggybacking off of Hordak's whole "I'm a failure" moment and let me tell you Entrapta telling Hordak that failure is okay and that needing help is okay is so much better than the "oh no you're not a failure" speech we usually get in shows like this. INSTEAD Entrapta told Hordak she HERSELF was a failure and that it was nothing to be ashamed of, AND THEN HE COMFORTED ENTRAPTA (with some prompting) which was a total 180 from what you'd expect to happen

(I'm sorry the tiny gremlin thing kicking him killed me it's just funny)

And you can tell that Hordak has grown to care for Entrapta throughout the next few episodes, and he knows it, which is why they're both hesitant to finish the portal and Hordak yells at her at one point because he's realizing it and it scares him

And you know what hit me really hard? When Hordak wonders where Entrapta is and Catra straight up lies to him and says "who do you think let the princesses in?" the b e t r a y a l in his voice is just too much and him going "no she wouldn't" kills me because wow this heartless man actually cares about someone like what a twist and UgH I WANNA HATE THIS BUT I JUST CAN'T

2. Catra
Speaking of things I want to hate but can't, Catra. Wow. Girl just went off. She has nothing to lose in the Crimson Waste and because she's so done with everything she freakin' takes it over!! Like how?? And she doesn't want to stay?? What??

And when she hears Shadow Weaver came back for Adora? How badly she wants that? How she wants approval so bad she'll go back to her abusers for it? How she wants Adora to lose even if it means the world ends? Just wow. Girl's a full-fledged villain now and it shows.
