THIS ONESHOT CONTAINS BLOOD AND GORE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Turfing had never been Angel's favourite, but then he met the demon on the battlefield. It had been a long day. Blood stained Angel's boots and pink suit. He ran across bloody, slit-throated bodies. Rubies against ochre dirt. Not a good combination.

And standing over a dead deer, a demon. He was biting and tearing apart the deer.

"Hey!" Angel barked. The demon rose and licked his lips. "Who are you?"

"I just came for a snack," the demon said, gesturing to the landscape.

"Ain't my turf yet," he shrugged. "Why ya eating demons?"

The demon shrugged, wiping blood from his mouth. "Tastes good," he said.

Angel raised his eyebrows, not sure if he was serious or not. He shrugged again. "This place is at war, ya know," he said.

"They taste better that way," the demon said. "They spend the whole time running, running from demons looking for territory just like them. They are scared, weak, and in pain. They try to run, but there is no point. They are trapped. They can either accept their death, and let it take them over, or they can keep going and die painfully. Either way tastes better."

His eyes had glazed over, staring into nothing as he spoke. "Depressing much, eh?" Angel said. "I didn't catch ya name, sugar."

"Alastor," he said. "You?"

"Angel Dust," he said. "See ya, deer boi."

Alastor hoped he would.
