Alastor could tell Angel wasn't comfortable having Arackniss in the hotel. He himself was a little uncomfortable having him around. He was quiet, a guy with little to no words, and at times he would go from smiling widely at Fat Nuggets to glaring maliciously at Angel. He didn't have any sense of humour either, it seemed, because when Alastor tried to lighten the tense mood with a joke, he would just nod mutely.

"Too fat," Arackniss said, pointing at Fat Nuggets. He didn't seem to mind being called 'fat' because he just continued to snuffle and snort in Angel's arms. Arackniss tilted his head at Alastor. "Too red."

"The colour red is a magnificent colour," Alastor protested. "It represents passion, desire and lov - "

Arackniss nodded and turned away. "Too pink," he said, extending his arms around the whole width of the room.

"Pink represents affection, harmony and inner peace," Alastor said. "Which represents Angel perfectly."

He reached over and squeezed Angel's hand. Angel relaxed slightly, curling it around his, until Arackniss turned and glared at him, and he snatched his hand back, mumbling about friendships and closeness.

Arackniss finished his inspection of Angel's room and turned his hunched body over to his brother. "I've heard some things about you, Angel Dust," he said, low and even. In a way that sounded more like a threat than a statement. "Father won't be too pleased."

"Father can suck my dick," Angel muttered.

"What?"

"Nothing," he said quickly.

He scratched Fat Nuggets behind the ears. The pig responded with a low grunt. "I've heard that you sleep with men," Arackniss said. The way he carefully spoke using as little words as he possibly could made him creepy and intimidating. Alastor himself wasn't bothered. He had met worse people. Arackniss was more like one of the fewer. But he didn't like how much he was making Angel uncomfortable.

Angel ducked his head, seeming to find a very interesting spot on Nuggets's neck. "Which might explain why I found the Radio Demon here," Arackniss said. Angel bit his lip, and Alastor saw a tear form in his eyes. He couldn't sit here any more and watch Arackniss treat his boyfriend like this. Brother or not.

"Arackniss, was it?" Alastor asked, standing. Arackniss nodded curtly. Angel tugged at Alastor's jacket desperately. "Alastor, dear, pleasure to be meeting you, quite a pleasure." He held out his hand for Arackniss to shake. Arackniss looked at it disdainfully, but Alastor didn't pull back until he had reluctantly shook it. "Now, I'm sure you've heard about me, but if you haven't, I'm going to stress this." He closed his eyes, and tilted his head.

When he opened them, they were radio dials, his antlers lengthening, and a black substance trickling through his sharp teeth. His hair levitated slightly, and the world around them turned to static. Arackniss looked a little more uncomfortable, especially as Alastor stepped closer, menacingly.

"I've killed people," Alastor hissed. Arackniss couldn't move, and he looked extremely uncomfortable now. He was sweating, his teeth grinding together, on the verge of an instant panic attack -

"Alastor!" Angel slammed a hand on Alastor's shoulder. The effect instantly switched off, causing Arackniss to jerk back suddenly, panting and sweating, kneeling over further than he already was, hand over heart, Alastor instantly back to normal. "Alastor," Angel said, gently and sounding touched. He didn't move his hand from his shoulder.

Arackniss straightened up, still panting and glowering slightly. "How were you not affected by that?!" he snapped at Angel.

Angel said nothing, instead finding a new interesting spot to look at, this time on Alastor's coat. "Father's coming," Arackniss said. "I asked."

Angel leaped back, tripping over Nuggets and landing on his bed, shivering, his upper limbs shielding him as if he was about to be hit. Alastor turned to him in concern. "Be ready," was the last thing Arackniss said before leaving.

Angel Dust's father was big and menacing, and looked a lot like Arackniss. He and Arackniss were talking in one corner. Vaggie was holding her spear, Charlie grinning nervously beside her, and Husk drinking alcohol, splashing it everyone in fear. Angel hid behind Alastor's larger form, trembling.

"Angel, dear?" Alastor said, turning, still hiding him. "Everything is going to be okay. I promise. I'm right here."

"That's what I'm worried about," Angel said. Alastor kissed him quickly, which eased the tremors a little. Then they strode across the room to Arackniss and Father.

"Angel Dust," Father said, saying it as if it tasted rotten on his tongue. "What have you been doing while I haven't been keeping you in check?"

In a burst of courage, Angel reached over and grabbed Alastor's hand, so tight that even if he wanted to, Alastor couldn't have pulled away. "Being the usual, Daddy dearest," Angel said, bravado returning to him, though still slightly weakened. "Arackniss, you've met him, but I don't think you have, Father." Angel wrapped all his arms around Alastor, hugging him side-on. Alastor hugged him back with one hand, gripping his cane in the other. "This is Alastor. A.k.a. the Radio Demon. A.k.a. My boyfriend."

Arackniss chocked on the tequila he was drinking, thumping his chest. Father just looked like he regretted everything he'd done in life, and glared at Angel in disappointment. "The Radio Demon?" he said. "Big deal. I've met bigger crime lords."

"Not like him," Angel said, cocking his head up to Alastor. "Show him?"

Alastor shrugged, and tilted his head, eyes turning into radio dials, world turning to static, antlers lengthening. Angel had become used to it, and just smiled widely as Arackniss and his father started to sweat, intimidated.

"I bet no crime lords can do that," Angel grinned, and Alastor shook his head, stopping the effect.

Angel's father blinked at Alastor, intimidated. "You are a disappointment," he said to Angel Dust, snarling. "Never been anything more. I'm ashamed to have a son like you."

"Well, Daddy," Angel said, stepping forward, which made his father and his brother stumble backwards, glancing nervously at Alastor. "I'm proud of who I am, always have been, always will be. If you can't accept that, well, sorry, but you can get out of my life."

"And if you choose to bully my boyfriend again, well..." Alastor said, and cocked his head again, the effect returning. It ended in a matter of seconds, but it felt like hours to Father and Arackniss. "We clear?"

Arackniss nodded mutely and quickly. Father glared at Angel quickly, grabbed Arackniss and hauled him out of the hotel.

"They'll be back," Angel sighed, deflating into Alastor's arms.

"We'll be ready," Alastor smiled, and Angel kissed him.
