Rose was already ready, waiting with Izzy, in the corner of the training room.

"You know you're going to have to talk to him sometime." Izzy whispered, catching Rose off guard.

"What?" She asked.

"Jace. You have to talk to him at some point. Maybe things will change."

Rose just shook her head slightly, before Jace came over.

"You might want to pick up the pace." He said to Izzy.

"You do not wanna be on my bad side right now." She said finishing up what she was doing.

"Are you gonna be okay?" He asked.

"The whole world is turning upside down. Simon turned into a vampire. Now Meliorn might die because of some...." She was cut off.

"It's not anything you did." Jace said.

"They just put a bunch of unrelated facts together, and came up with a big lie." He finished.

"I wish that made me feel better." She said, zipping the bag.

The three of them went to go, but Hodge came up the stairs.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked, causing them to stop.

"It's a very dangerous time, and no one is supposed to leave the premises without express orders." He continued.

"Hodge, we were just about to...." Izzy started, getting cut off.

"Lie to me?"

"Clary needs us, Hodge. The Clave is looking for her. She could be in serious danger." Jace said.

Hodge sighed after a second.

"Well, in that case, I'd make a timely exit before anyone of importance notices you're gone."

"We won't forget this." Jace said, before the three left.

The three made it to where Clary was supposed to be at, and waited with Luke.

A few minutes went by, and out walked Clary and Simon.

Clary ran to Jace, and gave him a hug.

At the sight, Rose rolled her eyes, going over to Simon.

"Hey. I just want you to know I had no part in it." She said.

"Thanks." He just said, before the two hugged.

"So this is your safe hideout, huh?" Jace asked Clary.

"Well, you think the Clave was gonna look here?" She said.

"Can we please focus on the matter at hand? Unless no one here cares that the Clave is planning on murdering Meliorn." Izzy said.

"What?" Simon and Clary both asked.

"They think Meliorn has more information on Valentine and the attack than he's saying." Jace explained.

"They're taking him to the Silent Brothers." Izzy said.

"We have to stop them!" Clary said.

"That's the plan, Clary. Rescue and recovery." Jace said.

"We get him from the guards, in and out, no one gets hurt." Izzy said.

"You want us to go up against the Silent Brothers, and an elite Shadowhunter guard unit?" Clary asked.

"Without any backup?" Luke also asked.
