After being told that Lydia was attacked and the cup was stolen....

The five of us stood by the one monitor in the corner of the room, as Izzy showed us something.

"How's Lydia?" Clary asked Alec as he came back into the room.

"Better. Magnus is doing what he can to help her, but it's bad. And the Cup is deffinetly missing." He said, sharing a look with Jace.

"So is Hodge." Jace said.

"Maybe he was attacked, too." Izzy said as she was at the computer.

"Maybe he's the one who attacked her." Clary said.

"Hodge? No way. We've known him our entire lives. He would never do that to us." Izzy said.

They all soon watched as Hodge attacked Lydia and took the Cup.

"I led him right to the Cup." Jace said, making Rosalie put a comforting hand on his arm.

"We treated him like family. How could he do this to us?" Alec asked.

Izzy brought up another camera. The one in the room Jocelyn was in.

It showed him putting a ring on his finger.

"That's how. What is that ring?" Clary asked.

"Looks like he's talking to someone." Rosalie observed.

"And I can bet who it is." Jace said.

Rosalie could tell he was angry, just by the way he was holding himself.

"Valentine." Clary said.

"Well, that explains how he deactivated the Punishment rune, but it doesn't explain where he got the ring." Alec said.

"You think someone smuggled it past the wards?" Clary asked.

"Maybe. Hodge wasn't the only ex-Circle member around here." Jace said, sharing a look with Alec.

"Look, I know I don't always see eye to eye with my parents, but I know they're not traitors." Izzy said.

"Really? Isn't that what you just said about Hodge?" Jace said.

Rosalie elbowed him in the side.

"It'd have to be someone we trusted, but if there was an intruder inside the Institute, we would have found them by now." He continued on after looking over at Rosalie.

"What about the forsaken attack?" Rose asked.

"No. We killed that thing, and I didn't see a ring." Alec said.

"He didn't have one during the autopsy, but... maybe there's something in the footage."

They all watched the footage until they saw Hodge take a ring off the forsakens hand.

"So it wasn't a random attack." Clary said.

"He was just the delivery boy." Jace said.

"If he gives the Cup to Valentine, he'll create an army of Shadowhunters. With that kind of power behind him, he'll kill thousands." Alec said.

"He'll kill thousands just creating the army. Most mundanes won't survive that. " Izzy added.

"We won't let that happen." Clary said.

"I'm gonna make sure of it." Jace said as he then left.

Rosalie sighed and followed him.

"Don't think you are doing this without me." She said.
