As I went to speak, Calum entered with a smile."Your blood work looks great- nothing to worry about" he spoke slowly.
"So now, we do shots" he spoke.
"Four in each arm?" She questioned as we set the needles behind her, planning how we were going to do it.
"Do you want me to hold you while Calum does them or would you want me and Calum to do them at the same time to get them done quicker?" I asked her.
"You can do them both at the same" She barely spoke, her eyes meeting mine before looking towards Calum.
We got her to roll her sleeves as we got everything ready, putting gloves on.
Her knee was bouncing slowly, she twirled the ring on her finger at a quick pace.
"So as we do this, you have to stay calm and relaxed, don't tense, keep your muscles relaxed or it will hurt more" Calum explained to her, making her nod slowly.
I slowly started wiping the four areas on the arm that I had, making sure she didn't tense.
I threw my wipe away the same time Calum did.
"We're going to do a countdown, remember not to tense or it's going to hurt more, okay?" I spoke slowly, seeing her nod, keeping her gaze towards her hands.
Calum did a count down and we immediately started.
She did amazing- she didn't pull away from us, she didn't tense, she didn't even move.
I finished my last one, immediately putting bandaids over the spots, seeing Calum doing the same.
"You did so good, Mila" Calum spoke as she sat silently, finally completely relaxing as I rolled her sleeves down.
We got her guardians back in, explaining everything to them.
"She might run some fever tonight, but if it gets to a concerning level or if it lasts for more than tonight, you need to bring her back in quickly." Calum explained.
"Her arms will be sore to the touch, Tylenol should help her with that" he continued, looking to her.
"Within thirty minutes she'll start getting tired, you can let her sleep, because the medicine will aid her to sleep at night too" Calum nodded as the two men nodded in agreement.
"Thank you so much" the small one spoke, shaking his hand before shaking my own.
As Blake spoke to Calum, I grabbed Mila'a hand, helping her step down from the bed.
I turned to Calum's desk, knowing this was probably against the rules, but I quickly jotted my number onto one of his business cards, tucking it into her hand quickly.
"Text me or call me if you need anything, understand?" I spoke quickly.
She immediately tucked it into her back pocket without a word, keeping eye contact with me.
We all shook hands, confirming that we would see each other Monday as they left
"Don't tell me that I saw what I think I saw" Calum spoke immediately
"I just want to be sure she's okay, she won't talk to anyone if she needs help" I spoke quickly.
"You better pray to God that she doesn't let that slip" he spoke quickly.
"Calum, she's scared to talk to anyone"
