"Mila-" "please don't give me sympathy" she spoke, looking to our hands slowly.

"I'm sorry that you had to go through that." I spoke to her sternly, tucking hair behind her ear.

She cleared her throat lightly.

"If you have any questions, you can ask them" she spoke quietly.

I felt her hands gently, looking to her face which held so many emotions.

"Did anyone touch you?" I asked her quietly.

This caused her eyes to pool with water.

"Mila" I almost whispered as she completely looked away from me.

"I don't remember it- but I know that something happened" she spoke, trying her hardest not to cry, but she was failing.

I completely pulled her small body between my legs, hugging her into my chest tightly.

Her arms went under my own as she held herself close to me, sniffing and taking deep breaths to try and resist from crying.

"Do you want me to be your therapist or your family right now?" I asked, not exactly sure which role I should take.

"Family." She exhaled out, making me immediately bring her as close as I could get her to my own body.

"I'm so sorry" I spoke into her hair, letting my lips rest on her head.

"I still dream about it" She spoke after she took a few minutes to compose herself.

"Which part?" I asked her quietly.

"It depends, some nights it will be my mom holding me down as my dad stabbed my arms, other nights would be going through the withdrawals again" she spoke slowly into my chest.

"It's because you haven't talked about it, you've never figured out a way to cope with everything" I spoke slowly.

"Luke?" She mumbled into my chest, making me immediately hum, waiting on her to speak.

"You won't leave me, right?" Her voice cracked

She was so vulnerable.

"Never" I spoke sternly, promising myself also.

"Just please, don't let anyone hurt me the way my parents did" she spoke, and I felt her breathing pattern change, telling me she was either close to or actually crying.

"I promise you, no one will ever hurt you as long as you're with me."
