Freak {Will Byers}

Chapter One

For some reason, Mari wanted to look decently good as she prepared for her day with Will. Her day hadn't started out well; she woke up ten minutes ago, her aunt was at work with Thomas, and she looked like a mess.

When her alarm went off, she stupidly shut it off. Forty-five minutes later, she was still sleeping. She woke up ten minutes before Will was supposed to pick her up. She took Will as the type of guy to be on time so she knew there would be no extra time.

Mari quickly brushed her teeth and combed her hair. Then she rummaged through her closet for clothes. She chose to wear some shorts and a yellow boxy t-shirt. Usually she would pair everything with boots but since it was summer, she chose some black and white tennis shoes to match.

Just as she clipped on her necklace, a small shout cane from outside the house. Mari looked out her window and saw Will on his bike. She quickly tied her shoes and rushed out the door.

"Hey!" he greeted.

"Hi!"

She looked at his bike in confusion, "How are we supposed to get there with just one bike?"

He smiled at her, "I'm gonna teach you the fun way to have a two person bike ride."

"Holy shit!"

Will ride down the road with Mari holding his waist tightly. He told her to put her feet on the small bars below, stand up, and hold on. She was confused until he started moving; that's when she almost fell off. She was still freaking out the whole way there. He smiled at her shouts the whole time.

They eventually made it to Dustin's house and they met the others on the driveway. When Will stopped, Mari immediately got off in relief.

"Are you okay?" Will asked while laughing.

"Next time you say to take the fun way, tell me what that means first."

He laughed and parked the bike. Mari looked at the group and noticed there was another girl with them. She was practically glued to Mike's arm so she assumed it was El, his girlfriend.

She walked up to her and held her hand out, "I'm Mari. You must be El."

El smiled at her and shook her hand. Mike turned to them, "So I had a plan but we needed El's...abilities to do them. So we need a different one to surprise Dustin with."

Will and Mari looked at each other before Will sighed, "I told her."

The others looked at him incredulously. Mari waited for the big explosion to occur.

"You told her?!" Mike shouted.

Will nodded.

"Come on, dude!" Lucas scolded.

Max and El both hit their boyfriends in an attempt to help Will get out of a lecture. Mike turned to El and she gave him a glare. He sighed and then groaned.

"We'll talk about it later but right now is about Dustin. He'll be home any minute."

They hid their bikes before walking into the house and hiding behind a wall. They heard a car pull in the driveway and quieted down. Mari heard Dustin freak out over the toys that El was making move.

She had to admit, it was cool seeing Eleven's powers. Her nose bled as she concentrated. Mari was in fascination but Mike told El to stop. She made the toys stop moving and they quietly crept out from behind the wall.

They stood behind Dustin and held up signs. Mike held a countdown before they yelled, "Surprise!"

Dustin turned around and screamed while spraying hairspray at Lucas' face. The others moved away from the spray zone as Dustin and Lucas's screams mixed.
