~~~In the Great Hall
Practically every student in Hogwarts had decided to join the great dueling contest.  First years chattered among themselves with big dreams of becoming the ultimate winner, while seventh years whispered among each other, trying to find new strategies and set dead on the goal of winning.
Dumbledore clapped, and announced, "Let the dueling begin!  We shall start with the smaller duels between students of the same year."
The Grey Rebels had been told it would be different for them.  They would function as a team and pick the team member they think should duel and that person would duel, representing the whole of the Grey Rebels, so not all four of them would be dueling... just one representative.  Their first duel would be against the winner of the 6th years, but Mason wasn't dueling among the 6th years.  For some reason, it had been decided that Mason would duel the winner of all hogwarts students - including the Grey Rebels.
Hadrian was pleased to see that Daphne was making it quite far in the competition, but then he narrowed his eyes as he noticed Theodore Nott, beat Daphne.  And it just so happened, that Theodore Nott was the winner among the 6th years.
Albeit hesitantly, Hadrian agreed to allow Hermione to duel Theodore Nott, knowing that Hermione wanted to prove to Theodore that muggleborns could be just as good, and even better than purebloods.
Obviously, Hermione won, despite the fact that Theodore knew some advanced spells taught to him by his death eater father.
Things progressed, and obviously, Hermione had beat the best dueler in all the other years.  Which meant, she should be dueling Mason next.
"Alright!  Well done Ms. Granger!  You have represented your team well.  Now you shall duel Mason Potter!  Will you switch out, or will you continue to represent your team?" Dumbledore asked.
At the same time Hermione answered, "I'll continue," Hadrian said, "I'm switching in."
Hermione swiveled around to Hadrian, eyes flashing.  Ignoring the tell tale warning signs of Hermione's temper, Hadrian stepped forward in front of Hermione, telling Dumbledore that he would be the one dueling Mason, and from the corner of Hadrian's eyes, he saw Mason pale, making him smirk.
"What why?" Hermione asked incredulously.
"You've done well representing our team Hermione.  But this is my battle." Hadrian responded.
"I'm perfectly capable!" Hermione yelled, catching the attention of every other student in the hall, whom now all turned to eagerly watch the fight between the two.
"I know." Hadrian replied.
"Then why can't I duel Mason?" Hermione reasoned, angrily.  Hadrian ignored her, taking out his wand and examining it, blowing away imaginary pieces of dust.  For a weird moment, Hermione didn't say anything, she just stood there, staring at Hadrian blankly.  Then suddenly, Hermione started ranting, saying how Hadrian always tried to steal the spotlight from her, how Hadrian was egotistical, thought he was better than everyone else.
Then, Hermione's jeers escalated, and she started talking about how Hadrian was just a helpless boy wanting the spotlight.  After a few seconds of Hadrian simply staring coldly at Hermione, Hermione's rants escalated even more, yelling how Hadrian didn't deserve Daphne and such.  Neville and Ginny both stood, jaws dropped and eyes wide at how far Hermione went.  Blaise didn't know exactly how to feel about his girlfriend's behavior and Daphne was fuming at what Hermione was saying to Hadrian.
Strangely, Hadrian's eyes weren't glowing nor was he scowling like he usually would be when someone says that.  His brows were slightly furrowed and he was staring at hermione.  His mouth opened as he was about to speak, but he was interrupted by a blazing red spell thrown by Hermione.
Hadrian dodged it skillfully, and quickly flicked his wand, rendering Hermione unconscious before she could throw another hex.  Much to the surprise of the other Grey Rebels, Daphne and Blaise, Hadrian picked Hermione up - princess style, and walked off, motioning with his head for them to follow him.
Once reaching their common room, Hadrian carefully set Hermione down on the couch, and turned to the others.
"I've never seen Hermione get so out of control before!" Ginny exclaimed, confused, then turning to Hadrian and yelling, "It's all your fault!  Obviously she'd be hurt if you took her position!"
Not knowing what to do, and not wanting to blame his own girlfriend, Blaise added on to Ginny's comment saying, "Seriously Hadrian?  Just admit it.  What did you do?"
"You're asking the wrong questions." Hadrian commented, looking at Hermione's unconscious figure in deep thought.
"Then what's the problem, Mr. I'm-the-best-and-always-know-everything?" Blaise yelled.
"The question is," Hadrian started, looking at Blaise as he snapped out of his thoughts, "not what happened to Hermione, but rather Who did this to Hermione."
Blaise was thrown back by Hadrian's answer.
"What happened then?" Ginny spoke.
Hadrian muttered something, waving his wand over Hermione's head, and a parchment appeared in front of them, with the picture of a brain on it, and everyone stared at the magical brain activity scan.
"Her brain activity is extremely low, close to none except for the section that controls thoughts, which means she has almost no control over what she does." Hadrian said, looking expectantly at the others, waiting for them to realize what had happened to Hermione.
After of few minutes of the other Grey Rebels, Daphne, and Blaise simply blinking, trying to figure it out, and Hadrian rolling his eyes at the others' incompetence, they all suddenly understood in one big go, standing eyes wide, and jaws dropped wide open.
"The imperius curse." Ginny whispered, shocked.
