Laya

Laya wasn't talking to Elliot, she crossed her arms and turned her head away from him. It had been an hour after Alessando had left and Laya was upset, upset at the way Elliot had handled the situation. Unlike Elliot, Laya had been optimistic about the situation and knew, deep deep down that Alessando was coming back, he had to come back! Elliot was quiet aware of Laya's sour mood but made no move to apologize or improve it. Laya gritted her teeth suddenly unable to tell why she was upset.

Alessando was coming back, he said as much but she couldn't place her finger on the notion of why her mood was still sour.
"You didn't need to act like a brat!" She said harshly breaking the silence.
"You're lucky he left his number!" She finished.
She heard Elliot scoff, "You trusted him too quickly!" He accused.
Laya frowned, "He likes us."
"Yeah well he could be into human trafficking as well!" Elliot accused crossing his arms.

Laya rolled her eyes, "That's a shitty excuse, you're scared!" She jabbed a finger at him knowing fully well he was.
"Scared? Enlighten me please Laya! Since you seem to know a whole bunch!"
Laya twisted her mouth in distaste at Elliot's attitude, "You're scared because you know you like him! You're scared because of how much and how fast it happened and because you're terrified he's going to leave!"

Elliot was quiet and Laya only sulked when she finished angry she got all worked up.
"Yeah well what if he does leave us!" He huffed.
Laya grabbed his hand, "He won't, but if he does, you'll always have me."
Elliot seemed to calm down by her answer and let silence fall over them before he spoke up again, "Do you think he'll still come after how I treated him?" He asked sounding suddenly fragile.
Laya wrapped her arms around him, "Definitely."

Laya awoke the next day to the nurses talking amongst themselves. Laya lifted her head and smiled when the head nurse stepped forward.
"How are you guys?" She asked quickly.
Laya smiled, "Better."
"Remind me of your age please Miss Ou?" She asked nicely.
Laya nodded, "twenty one."
She turned her attention to Elliot, "And you Mr. Trace?"

"Seventeen." He lifted a brow.
"That's what I thought," she said looking up from her clipboard.
"It's says here that your still a minor...."
Elliot cut her off frowning, "And what of it?"
The head nurse gave him a look as suddenly Laya grew nervous, "In the news, faces of the victims were posted all over the country and your old foster home contacted the hospital."

Laya felt Elliot squeeze her hand, Elliot had mentioned his foster home awhile back, in captivity when they're gotten to talking but nothing too detailed but it wouldn't take too much to realize that Elliot hated it because the people in charge were shitty assholes who—
"They're here to retrieve you."
Laya sat up on the bed instantly, "He isn't going anywhere! We haven't even been discharged yet!"

The head nurse nodded, "You'll be discharged later today, but you Mr. Trace will be leaving very soon." She tried to smile and it was then Laya realized he was shaking.
"No! I can't go back there!" He said quietly.
"Please don't send me back..."
Laya cupped his cheek, "Baby, it's okay, you'll be okay."
But Elliot wasn't looking at her and Laya was growing frantic, "You can't send him back! Look at him! He's clearly not in the right mind!"

Laya tried reasoning with her but the nurse had made up her mind, "I'm sure they'll allow visiting, you'll be able to see each other until he turns eighteen and then he's free to go."
Laya ignored her turning her attention to the boy in her arms who still wouldn't look at her, "Elliot, listen tell me what did they do to you? What made you run away?"
But Elliot just shook his head which made Laya feel uneasy before rocking him back and forth.

"I won't let them take you!"
The nurse gave them a quiet look, "They're here,"
Laya wrapper a protective arm around from him, "Go away!" Laya muttered bitterly.
She eyed the men who entered the room and Laya scowled not trusting them for a second!
"He doesn't want to leave with you!"
Elliot who still refused to say a word just tightened his hold on her and Laya grew weary when they both approached the bed.

"We have to go now boy!" One of them spoke roughly.
His face was hard and long, with a bushy beard covering his jaw and chin, Laya wanted to knock that conniving smirk off his lips as he stared at Elliot.
"He's not going with you!" Laya said firmly planting herself in front of him.
"Don't make us move you!" They threatened.
But Laya held her ground no one was going to take them but Alessando!

When she didn't move she saw them both stare at each before they lunged at her and Laya quickly kicked one of them in the jaw before clawing the other who was attempting to grab her. She screamed bloody murder while Elliot kicked on his own. Suddenly terrified Laya watched as he grabbed Elliot firmly who was thrashing like a fish out of water as she screamed and cried for them to let him go.

"He's not yours!" She screamed.
"Laya!" He screeched out loud.
"I'll come for you!" She screamed, tears prickling down her face.
"Alessando!" She heard Elliot scream.
Laya watched as the door was forcefully closed and she ran to it just as they locked it caging her in. Laya screamed and cried and banged on the door.
"No!"
"No!"
"No!" She cried.

She sank to the floor in a fit of tears and wiped her eyes furiously before remembering Alessando's number. Bolting towards the phone she dialed it and waited in a heated breathe to hear his voice.
"Yes?"
"They t-took him Alessando!" She cried.
"They took h-him!"
