As the temperature increases, in the same proportion the bodies dilate, there is a growth of its internal vibration and tend to the escape. And that was how Mat and Kalima spent their days on the Isle. Their hot, vibrant bodies were always willing to escape from the routine. They took advantage of the warmer days to go to the hard sand beach, made love each other in the small natural pool formed by the stones and at the end of the day climbed the Cliffs to enjoy the great sunset of the West Coast.
Mat, in his new phase of possessive exacerbated jealousy, did not leave Kalima for a minute. He got home from work and was promptly looking for her. If they could not leave at that moment he would wait around, looking like a watchdog willing to bite any
intruder unnoticed, in this case, being an intruder not so unnoticed. Kalima had understood the situation and had also settled into Mat's new posture, knew how to deal with the Doctor.
After a few more days, they went to visit Elise Marie in the South Coast Village. They were with her at the house she rented.
"But you're very well-settled here, my friend! Wow! This house is very big! And just for you? You must get lost here and there."
"You see, things here on the Island are cheaper. The living costs are much lower too. With what I paid for in this house, I would not be able to get one half the size on the continent. "
"Yes, it's true! See, Mat, who knows if one day we will not settle here either."
"Yes, Kalima. Can be! But what about my job? And the Inn? "
"You find an easy job here, don't you, Elise? And in the Inn, the situation is quieter now with Satir."
"Yes, my friend. Mat would get a good job at the hospital where I work. And he's very good at surgeries; we need a good expert like him."
"Thank you, Elise. Who knows, one day... Let's see... Who knows, right? "
"Yes! Who knows, my love. You yourself have said that sometimes you miss the capital and the whole structure of a city... What do you see so much on that road crossing? "
"I see the sea, the river, the forest, the waterfall... And also our love escapades in the wilds."
"Yes, my friend!" Elise laughed. "Here you will have to walk much more to find places like this."
In the evening, they went out to dinner at a new restaurant in the Village. The specialty was seafood.
"Um ... What a welcoming menu, Elise! I think I'll want everything."
"Elise, your friend is a real lioness to eat," laughed Mat. "I think you already know that."
"I already know, Mat. I remember well. Thankfully she has no tendency to get fat, otherwise, she would not fit in this narrow chair. But she is still very well, with this body of envy to the younger girls. "
They ordered the most traditional dish of the Island, the river fish accompanied by prawns, squid, and octopus, golden in the oil; It was almost a Provencal shrimp, but with some specific herbs from the Isle. They delighted the dish and before returning to the house, they took a short stroll along the edge of the village. It really looked like a Continental city, but with streets lighted with whale oil. In front of the border, there were bars and restaurants where regional music was heard; it was appreciated the well-strummed guitar accompanied by the percussion characteristic of the northern region of the continent. The establishments were situated on the central avenue, wide and well lit, where the chariots passed from here to there, families coming and going to their homes in the routine of the South Coast Village.
Mat felt good in the Village, more reminiscent of his urban and cosmopolitan world. But at this point in his life, he was not ready to start over from his corner with his supernatural charms.
They slept at Elise's house, and in the morning they returned. Two hours down the road and they arrived before lunch. After the meal, Mat took the opportunity to exercise. It had been a few months since he had returned to his training routine. In college, he trained almost every day and even had some fights. He was not a great boxer, but enough to defend himself. Pugilism also helped him to form the beautiful physique: wide back, toned chest and arms, all thanks to the years of work in the gym.
Mat had booked a place near the Inn for his workouts. He was all sporty, shirtless and in shorts. He started running. He jogged two kilometers at a good speed. Then it was the abs; he made in a row. Finally, were the frontal and lateral push-ups. In the absence of sack bags, ropes, and weights, he improvised lifting some trunks. After half an hour he was exhausted and dripping with sweat.
Satir was at the desk and watched him in his bodily toil. He also liked to exercise, and sometimes he turned his eyes to the Doctor. He had to attend a guest who checked-out and minutes later, when he returned to accompany his training, Mat was already gone.
He had received the call. The call of the Goddesses. He bolted as best he could.
He ran more intensely than before. In twenty minutes, he had arrived at the place requested. It was the river. In truth, the part of the river that widened and the slopes lowered, forming small beaches made of sand and clay. And the Tree was there, the giant ice-colored tree was sitting on the banks of the river, set on top, but close to the waters.
"But by Poseidon and all the nymphs!! Look where you've gone today! What madness! Are you not afraid to stand by a river like this? With this whole size you can fall easily. You should change your navigator one of these days; Ham, just for a change"
But the Tree was well-placed on the banks of the river, its roots penetrating deep into the clay earth.
"And look who's coming!"
At this moment, the Goddess Winter and Goddess Spring jumped up from there and landed in the shallow waters, real felines jumping from the sky and falling on their paws. Their flexible trunks did not suspend them, and there seemed to be a certain amount of slack in them, allowing the Muses to move freely to the middle of the river, to the bottom. Mat noticed the flexible trunks at another opportunity and saw that they were not loose or strained. They were always in an ideal situation for the muses to move. They were like large fire hoses attached to their backs, but so that they could move without the trunks disturbing them, curling or getting stuck in something. The man had not discovered until then some mechanical system that did this work so perfectly. It was another perfect mill of the supernatural nature of the Tree.
"But only two of you came, where are the others? Where's the Goddess Summer?"
He was on the other riverside and jumped into the water to cross it.
It turns out that this part of the river, besides being wider, was also deeper. And there was a strong stream in the middle of the river. Mat knew how to swim, but he was not a great swimmer capable of adventures in rapids. When he was almost in the middle of the river, the stream began to pull him hard sucking down, and for a second, he could only remember to cry out for help. He was being dredged by the turbulent waters. After a few moments, Goddess Summer appeared powerful, plunging beside him and dragging him to the other shore. Regardless of the flexible trunk that kept her attached to the Tree, she was very strong and proved to be a great swimmer too.
She had easily been able to swim against the current and still take Mat without any problems. Coughing and taking another breath, Mat smiled at Primma Goddess:
"You are here, my love! You saved me! You are my hero! "
The others came to see him. They did not say anything, but the faces showed that they were worried about Mat's safety, with his health. It was the first time he noticed this feeling in the superhuman muses.
"My dears! You are the beautiful supernatural who saved me. I thank you for that. I still do not know exactly what you are or where you come from, but I feel better with you here now."
