they performed the surgery. renjun insisted to pay for everything. jeno wanted to help financially. but renjun insisted.

"come on, babe. let me help—"

"no, no. save it. go and get yourself something to eat. you look awful. i can manage everything, jeno. you don't have to worry about anything." renjun said with the sweetest smile he could give. he wanted to look okay to jeno because he doesn't want jeno to worry.

"fine. but i don't want to leave. i'll wait here until the surgery's over." jeno said.

but they both couldn't stop worrying. the love of their lives is inside with the doctors who are wounding him to save him. they trust the surgeons. this is the best and most trusted hospital in the country. renjun transferred jaemin in it. plus, he knows the surgeons. both of them know that jaemin is in good hands. hopefully.

after some hours, the doctor came out from the OR and kind of stretching his arms. after all, they operated for hours.

"mr. huang, mr. lee. the operation's a success. he's living."

both of them sighed in relief. and renjun thanked him for giving jaemin another chance to live.

"but he's in a coma. i'm sorry, excuse me." and he left.

as usual, both of them sobbed again. this is just too much for them. not financially, but emotionally and mentally. it pained them. everything hit them in the face.

they blamed themselves. they shouldn't have been selfish and shouldn't have done it on their own. they knew jaemin wouldn't give something up that easily. but still, they went on, on their own. they knew they were wrong. and they regret it. so so much.

jaemin saw how they opened his head. how they did some miracle and made the surgery successful. he doesn't know how surgery and science work, but he's thankful that those exist.

after the surgery was done, he followed the doctor who first left the room, and he was grinning. he was excited to hear with his own ears the good news the doctor will bring. well, that's what he thought.

until he heard that he'll be in a coma. the happiness that was on his face suddenly changed into a frowning and sorrow one. he thought he'll be seeing both of them again.

he was the saddest among the three. there are only two problems on his mind now. if he'll live or not.
