3rd POV
Ginny walked away from Perseus' room dejected. She knew her mother would be upset about him not eating and she didn't know how to explain what happened.
She walked a slow pace to the kitchen door, trying to drag out the time it takes. She slowly pushed open and slid into her seat, ignoring the gaze of her friends and family, or rather her mother.
Mrs. Weasley refused to serve the food and stood staring at Ginny, holding a plate of sandwiches. "Ginny, dear, where is Perseus? I thought I told you to fetch him for lunch?"
Ginny gulped and raised her eyes to meet her mother's imploring stare. "He wouldn't come out. He said something about being tired and taking a nap. He also said he would eat more at dinner to make up for lunch. But..."
Mrs. Weasley looked more and more upset. She raised her eyebrow when Ginny trailed off hesitantly. "But what?"
Ginny looked down and back up again with a frown on her face. "But he sounded like he was crying. His voice broke and he sniffled a lot."
Mrs. Weasley's heart broke. That poor boy, all alone with a broken heart that can't seemed to be fixed. She gasped and looked towards the kitchen door, wanting nothing more than to run up stairs and mother the boy. But she couldn't. He's not her son and he doesn't trust her, or any of them for that matter.
Sure he may be friends with Ginny but it's not believable that he would trust her with his life or his secrets. She gazed sadly at the door, thinking about what she could do to cheer him up.
She couldn't think of anything, not one thing. She would have to wait until she knew him better. She frowned and began serving lunch. Skipping the empty seat that sent a pang of sadness through her heart.
Time skip
Percy woke up three hours later with trails of tears still making their way down his face. He couldn't stop thinking of his mother, of his need for her comfort. Or the blue cookies she made. Or the way she ran her fingers through his hair to calm him after nightmares. Or of how happy she always was, even after everything that happened.
He thought of her laughter that seems to echo throughout the house.
He thought of the poems she would read him everyday.
He even thought of the tears she shed for him.
Perseus slammed his hands into his head, trying to stop the flow of thoughts. Trying to stop thinking of her. He just wanted to stop thinking.
His hands kept slamming into his head as hard as they could. He knew the lain would kick in later but he couldn't bring himself to care.
Suddenly the thoughts stopped. His mind went blank as he just laid there, his face scrunched up in pain and his hands clutching the side of his head.
All thoughts left him. Thoughts of the past, thoughts of the present, and thoughts of the future just disappeared.
He supposed he should have been scared. Scared of the fact that he couldn't think. But he didn't feel fear or worry.
Instead he felt a calmness that he hasn't felt in years. It was a feeling so foreign to him that he really should have been afraid. But instead his body relaxed instantly. His hands dropped from his head and his face smoothed out, no longer scrunched up.
