3rd POV
Harry didn't like Perseus. He couldn't let it show, however, or he would never be able to get the answers to his burning questions. Harry had a plan, a simple one really. He had based it off the old saying 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer'.
It was easy, pretend to befriend Perseus and lure him into a false sense of security before ambushing him once Harry proves him to be a Death Eater.
Of course, it would be so much easier if Perseus was a Gryffindor or even Slytherin so they would at least have classes together, but beggars can't be choosers.
Seeing Perseus walking into the Great Hall with a bloodied hand caused worry to rise within Harry. He wasn't worried for Perseus but about him. The bloodied hand reminded him of Snape in his First Year. Snape had earned a wounded leg due to him attempting to go against Fluffy, he ignored the fact that Snape was in fact trying to protect the school. See, Snape's character was confusing to Harry but he always has a lingering doubt about him, as if he's about to do some evil deed. The same goes for Perseus, except there isn't any doubt about Perseus being evil.
In his mind Perseus was out late the night prior doing some evil task given to him by his grandfather, Lord Voldemort.
Harry was forced out of his musings by Luna screeching at Perseus. Harry smirked slightly and turned to look at Ron, which was a mistake. He found Ron already staring at him and the both of them erupted into a laughing fit, which was only stopped by Hermione glaring at them and kicking them harshly under the table. Ron, being Ron, opened his mouth and spoke around the huge amount of food he was currently shoveling down his throat - even Harry was disgusted by this. "Herr my knee!"
Hermione's face twisted in confusion before morphing into one of disgust. "Honestly Ronald! Learn to swallow your food before you speak! Your attempt to say my name was worse than Victor's!"
Ron's mouth dropped in shock at the mention of Victor Krum, the Bulgarian Quidditch player who had a small crush on Hermione the year prior and even had the honor to take her to the Yule Ball. Small bits of chewed food slipped out of his mouth, both Hermione and Harry cringed away. "Ronald! Close your mouth! You are completely and utterly uncivilized!"
Ron grumbled under his breath as he tried to swallow his food as quickly as possible in order to at least get a word in before classes started. After swallowing a particularly large amount of food, Ron opened his mouth to show it clear of food. "Bloody hell Hermione! Why'd you kick us?"
"It is rude to laugh at the expense of another's pain." She scoffed.
"He's related to You-Know-Who," Harry rolled his eyes, "I think Perseus is an exception to that little rule."
Hermione gritted her teeth and leaned forward, her voiced lowered so much that Ron and Harry could barely hear her. "That is a sensitive topic that is not suitable to be spoken about over pancakes and pumpkin juice!"
The small argument between the Trio was stopped by the Deputy Headmistress and Gryffindor Head of House, Minevera Mcgonagall handing out the timetables. Hemione glanced down at the paper given to her. "That's strange."
Harry nodded in agreement and glanced up at her after looking at his own timetable. Ron, out of the loop, stared at them after inhaling another plate of food. "What's strange?"
"We normally have all of our classes we with Slytherin," Hermione shook her head in confusion, "this year we have classes with Ravenclaw."
Ron's head shot up so quickly that Harry was sure that he pulled some kind of muscle. A wide grin threatened to split Ron's face. "So no more classes with those Slimy Snakes?"
The hope in his voice was unmistakable, however Hermione was even more confused when she reached the bottom of her paper to find a small note scribbled on there. "Apparently the Headmaster wants to see the three of us right after breakfast."
The end of breakfast couldn't come quicker to the three impatient students. Harry's mind was running with endless possibilities as to what Dumbledore could want. It was so surprise that when the food finally disappeared from the table - signaling the end of breakfast - that the Golden Trio shot up from their seats and rushed out of the Great hall, eliciting some strange looks from surrounding students.
Surprisingly they nearly beat the Headmaster to his own office. They ran up to the entrance just as the Eagle Statue jumped aside to allow Dumbledore inside. The pounding of their feet alerted him of their presence and he turned around with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. "I wasn't expecting you to be here so soon."
The three tried to respond but were to busy trying to catch their breath so all that came out was a wheezing sound. "No matter," Dumbledore gestured for them go up to his office, "you are here now and that is all that matters. I am sure you three have some questions, as I am sure I have some answers."
They made it up to his office, it was messy in a controlled chaotic way. Knick-knacks were placed everywhere, yet Harry was sure Dumbledore knew exactly where everything was located. There were paintings hung everywhere, most where previous Headmasters of the school. They were all enchanted to move, though they were either asleep or had moved into a different frame.
The Golden Trio sat in the chairs in front of the Headmasters desk. Dumbledore walked around the desk and sat in his brightly colored chair, he lifted a bowl full of yellow colored sweets. "Would you like a lemon drop?"
Hermion scrunched her nose at the thought and politely shook her head and Harry followed suit. Ron, however, eagerly grabbed a treat and stuck it in his mouth. His decision was met with regret when the sour flavor of lemon hit his taste buds and caused his face to scrunch up in distaste.
"Now, I'm sure you are wondering why I called you here, especially right before your very first class of the year." Dumbledore smiled at then as he set the bowl of lemony treats onto the desk. "You'll have noticed the change this year. Gryffindor will have classes with Ravenclaw and Slytherin with Hufflepuff. This is due to our new student, I wish for you three to keep an eye on him. Help him adjust to the new environment and settle in."
Hermione nodded her head right away. "Of course we will Professor!"
Harry and Ron hesitantly nodded after her statement. Harry was going to watch him closely anyway, but not to make sure he was settling in okay. Harry has the firm belief that Perseus should settle exactly the way he did as a First Year, figure it out himself.
As that was all Dumbledore needed to speak to them about the Trio all rushed out of his office and to their next class, holding a note that gave the reason as to why they were late to class.
They were assured, or rather Hermione was assured by Dumbledore that the teachers who were in the Order - which included Mcgonagall, Flitwick, Sprout, and sadly Snape - would assist in keeping an eye on Perseus during classes so that the Trio could focus on their work as well.
All three were thinking different thoughts about the situation on the way to their first class. Hermione was looking forward to getting to know Perseus and understand him, especially due to all the secrets he seemed to have. Harry just wanted to prove Perseus to be as Dark as his grandfather. Ron, on the other hand, was thinking of three things. Firstly, what he would eat at lunch; secondly, what he would eat for dinner; and thirdly how much work it would take to keep an eye on Perseus who seemed to know how to avoid people when he wanted to.
With these thoughts in mind the Golden Trio of Gryffindor burst into their first class of the day, Charms.
Hope you guys enjoyed it! Also not sure if I said this in the last chapter but I did pick the Bowtruckles name and its Boone, I know I'm so creative. Anyway, all of my state tests have been cancelled except for my AP tests, I'm not sure about my final exams for the classes though. So due to the AP tests coming up soon I better get studying!
