I heard something breaking that night only to realise the next morning that it was my heart, breaking bit by bit, into many irrepairable pieces.
Did you hear it break too?

The night was only getting younger, as people lost themselves to the world of expensive liquor and mouthwatering delicacies. The ambience was one of merriment, fun and enjoyment as the guests chattered and danced the night away.

Nandini stood with Karan and Ram, who were introducing her to some business partners when all of a sudden there was darkness everywhere, startling everyone. Karan was about to excuse himself and see to the problem when a spotlight fell on Nandini, surprising her. She turned towards the stage only to find Advik standing on it with his ever so dashing self and a breath taking smile that was only reserved for her.

Advik: My dearest Nandini, my best friend and my wife, my happy pill and my peace; my everything, my love. I'd never need to worry about anything for I have you in my life, who'd walk through the hardest path just to keep me safe, who'd do the hardest thing possible just to keep me happy. You say you're lucky to have me in your life but one look at the world and you'll realise that it's me who's fortunate enough to have you in my life, as mine, always and forever.

Suddenly a soft melody hits her ears and she found a guitarist right behind Advik, along with some other musicians and soon enough Advik's raspy and raw voice followed, warming her insides.

Saath chhodunga na tere piche aaunga
Chheen lunga ya Khuda se maang laaunga
Tere naal taqdeeran likhwaunga
Main tera ban jaaunga
Main tera ban jaaunga

He starts singing and telling her that he'll never leave her side and keep walking behind her, wherever she goes; even if it meant either snatching her or requesting for her to God; but he'll ask Him to write his destiny with hers. He'll always be hers.

Nandini's breath got stuck in her throat as she heard his words; looking into his eyes she realised that he was indeed very serious about sticking with her forever.

Sonh teri main kasam yehi khaunga
Kitte waadeya nu umra nibhaunga
Tujhe har waari apna banaunga
Main tera ban jaaunga
Main tera ban jaaunga

Advik smiled and sang further expressing that he swears on her that he'll keep all his promises done to her all his life; and every time he'll make her his and will become hers.

Nandini smiled and bit on her lower lip, shaking her head as she recognised the slightest hint of possession in his voice and body language.

As the drum beats and guitar strings match Advik's rhythm, his steps started advancing towards Nandini, who herself, as if drawn to him, started advancing towards him, only halting when they were face to face, just a few inches away.

Lakhaan ton juda main hoya teri khaatir
Tu hi manzil main tera musaafir
Rab nu bhula betha tere karke
Main ho gaya kaafir

Advik cupped her cheeks and sang with utmost honesty, telling her that for her he has detached himself from millions; she is the destination of his wandering soul; for her he has even forgotten his god, so much so that he became an atheist, who only had one faith-her.
