Luke and Ben walked through the small village.

Ben looked at the sand beneath his feet. "There was something special about that girl."

"She was strong with the Force," Luke replied.

Ben nodded. Then his fists tightened. "I can't believe that her parents sold her," he said angrily.

Luke looked at him in surprise. Then shook his head.

"She was so kind, and beautiful, what could she have done to deserve this?" he asked.

Luke shook his head. "If her parents sold her, then they did not deserve her."

"I wish there was something we could do for her," said Ben.

"Me too," Luke agreed. "But right now, if we don't get our ship fixed and get out of here, the first order will find us. And when they do, they will most likely kill us."

"Did you get the part that we need, uncle?" Ben asked.

"Yes, but our friend Unkar said that he couldn't take credits. He said that we would have to pay with actual money or trade something for it," said Luke. "We don't have any money."

"And we don't have anything to trade," Ben added.

Luke scanned him from head to toe. "Well..."

"Uncle, you can't be serious?" said Ben.

Luke smiled. "I thought you wanted to stay here... with the girl." He smirked, then continued to walk leaving Ben behind.

Ben hurried to catch up. "No, I wanted to take her with us. To save her from this junkyard that her parents left her on. She deserves better than this. She has the Force, she belongs in your academy learning to be a Jedi, not here looking for scrap metal."

"I know Ben. I was only teasing you. I'm sure we can find something to trade for the hyper drive."

"What about the girl?" Ben asked.

"What about her?"

Ben looked down and became silent for a second. "If we can't find something to trade for her I want you to offer me in her place."

"Ben..."

"I'm serious uncle. If we can't find a way to buy her and take her away from this cruel place, I want you to offer me in exchange for her," he said. "She doesn't deserve this."

"Neither do you, Ben," Luke replied. "And how will I explain this to your parents... to your mother?"

"They never come to see me, they won't notice that I'm gone," Ben said sadly. Then he smiled. "Besides, I'll escape... hopefully."

Luke opened his mouth to protest, but he was interrupted by a sweet voice.

"Hi Ben."

They both turned to see Rey coming up behind them. "Are you going to live here on Jakku, now?" she asked them.

"No, we're just staying here until we can get our ship fixed," Luke explained.

"I can help you fix your ship for you. I can fix almost anything," she said.

Luke smiled. "I bet you could," he said. "But unfortunately, we can't fix the ship until we get the part we need."

"What part do you need?" Rey asked.

"A hyper drive," Luke replied.

"I used to have two, but I traded both of them for food. Did you get one from the outpost?" she asked Luke.

"No, we have to find something to trade for it," Luke said.

"I can help you," said Rey. "I know the best place to find good parts."

Luke thought for a moment. They needed to get their ship fixed and fast, otherwise the first order would find them. He hoped they could find enough parts so that they could also trade for the girl. Otherwise, he knew that his nephew would trade himself in to free her.

While Luke was thinking, Rey looked up at the sky. "A sand storm is coming," she said.

"We should get back to our ship," Luke told Ben.

"Where is your ship?" Rey asked.

"On the outskirts," Ben answered.

"Come with me," she said, taking Ben's hand and pulling down the street. "You'll never make it to your ship. Sandstorms are very dangerous, you can stay in my place until it passes."
