"hey will have you seen mike?" el said slamming wills bedroom door open

Mike sat up groggily, "el you're gonna wake him up, what're you doing"

el bounded over and sat on mikes lap, "I wanna go Christmas shopping!"

els loud voice finally woke up will and he groaned.

best thing for him to wake up to is el on mikes lap! it doesn't break his heart at all.

"el what are you doing here" will says in an incredibly annoyed voice

"me and Mikey are going Christmas shopping, wanna come?!"

Mike didn't even say he'd go, will wanted to point out but he didn't instead he just shook his head and said, "sorry I have plans"

"what plans?" the wheeler boy said sharply leaning forward

"robin and Steve are setting me up on a blind date"

Mike face fell and he quickly looked away

"with who?!" el said excitedly

"el it's a blind date. the point is that I don't know who it is"

"oh"

Mike stayed silent. why the hell did he care that will had a date?! was it with a girl? what if they actually got along well and started dating?! what if- wait why did he care. he's got el and wills just a friend and plus he's straight.

then why does it hurt so bad.

"you okay Mikey?" el said poking mikes cheek

"I'm fine el"

Will got out of bed and headed to the bathroom, "have fun guys" he said over his shoulder.

Mike felt his heart ache with every step will took, knowing that he was going on a date but Mike also hated himself for caring so much.

will got ready as quick as he could and then ran upstairs, briefly stopping in the kitchen.

"where are you going will?" Joyce called

"to the movies"

"okay, see you later"

with that will left without even glancing at Mike.

he ran almost all the way to robins

"hey kiddo," the door swung open revealing robin the second he knocked.

they'd come up with the date idea as soon as will admitted he wasn't 100% sure he was gay. the idea was to set him up on a date with a girl he didn't know and just see if he wasn't gay.

this couldn't possibly go horribly wrong. 

"you ready to go" robin asked grabbing her car keys

"yep"

"where are you meeting her?"

"the diner"

"you excited"

"eh, she could be nice"

"she is"

"you know her?"

"yeah we're friends"

"does she know you're gay"

"yea kid she does" robin said laughing softly

"is she gay"

"she's bi"

"what's bi?"

"when you like both genders"

"wait so Mike could like el and still like boys" will said hopefully

"yep pretty much"

"wow okay"

"we're here kid. get out. I'll pick you up at 10"

"okay bye robin"

"bye Byers"

with that will slammed the car door shut and walked slowly into the diner

a small girl waved at him from across the diner

will walked over to her, she had gorgeous brown eyes, a cute smile and honestly, was perfect in every way.

but all will could think about was Mike

"you're will Byers right?" the girl said softly patting the seat beside her

"yeah, yeah I am"

"I'm Sophie Foster"

she grinned at him and offered him some of her milkshake

this was actually going okay, she was sweet and nice and bi so even if will turned out to be gay, she wouldn't hate him. maybe today would be a good day

as long as will didn't run into Mike wheeler. today would be perfect
