~Daniel's pov~
We scanned the room for any clues and found a route to follow to the exit of this massive palace of some sorts. We took three right turns and four left turns, seeing a huge door at the end of the hallway. We hurried to the door, wanting to get out of this place until I heard a scream from a door down a different path.
I didn't realize that I had slowed down behind the others and started walking down the different path.
"Someone help me! Get me out! Please!" The voice pleaded out.
It sounded very familiar, and I know that I have heard this voice before.
"Please! I just want my mommy!" The voice cried out. After his statement- a heart shattering sob broke through the air.
"Alexander?" I called out, trying to find which door his voice came from.
"Hello? Yes! I'm here! I'm Alexander! Help me!" He said quickly, banging on the door. I could hear the hope in his voice.
I stopped infront of the door I assumed he was in, and looked everywhere for a key.
"Hey Alex, have you seen where he put the keys to this thing?" I asked him after trying to break the door down.
"Yeah, he put it in the knight statue thing at the end of the hall." Alexander said, saying he saw the mean man put it there through the peep hole.
I jogged over to the armored knight and lifted up the helmet. The keys immediately fell out and I cought it with my free hand. I out the helmet back on its head, but since I was in a hurry, I accidentally knocked the whole thing over.
It made loud clattering sounds and I took a sharp inhale of breath. I slowly settled the helmet on the ground and back away from the scene.
I walked towards the door and inserted the key inside the keyhole. I pulled on the handle and tugged it open. Alexander came sprinting towards me and englufed me into a hug. But by his height- he was just hugging my legs. I caught both of us and had enough strength to not let us tumble over after his surprise bear hug.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" He said cheerily, looking up at me with a tear stained face.
"You're welcome kiddo." I smiled down at him, ruffling his hair.
"I thought we were going to my music studio but then Auntie Tera brought me here and started talking to this man in a suit and she just left me here!" He rambled.
"What?"
"Yeah! Auntie Tera was part of his plan after all! When she brought me here she demanded something about money and got it! She was so mean and evil to me when I said I wanted to go home." He kept on going.
"The suited man told her to kill my mommy. Please don't let her do it. Please." He cried, his tiny hands clutching on my piece of clothing.
"When did she leave?" I asked him.
"About ten minutes ago, I think. I heard the car drive off of the garage. Right now it's rush hour- so she won't make it to her destination until after thirty-five minutes." He explained, looking deep in thought.
"How do you know that?" I asked him and I bent down and picked him up, running back to where the guys were. Alexander squealed in surprise but then proceeded to laugh.
"I don't know. I'm a math whiz- atleast that's what mommy says." He giggles and held onto me.
"Daniel, where the heck were you?" Jonah hissed, but stopped when he saw the little child in my hands.
"Let's go then." Corbyn dismissed the conversation, opening the door and hurrying out.
We all got out of the huge building and started walking towards the woods. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and exhaled. I let my human instincts go and let my primal instincts take over me. By the time I opened my eyes; they shifted colour.
I heard Alexander gasp and I looked at him in my arms, giving him a wolfish grin. I settled him down and told him to stay put as I went behind a tree. I stripped down and folded my clothes and then shifted to my wolf.
Gosh, it felt so good to shift after such a long time.
I clamped the clothing into my mouth and went around of the tree. Alexander looked horrified for a moment, looking at the clothes in my mouth. I dropped the clothing and laid on the dirt floor, putting my head on my paws as I waggled my tail. I rolled over showing my belly fur and sat back up, waggling my tail playfully as my tongue rolled out.
Alexander giggled and laughed, then finally rushed over to me, petting my furry head.
"So cute!" He gushed out, scratching behind my ear.
My leg had a mind of its own and started bouncing off the floor. My head leaned into his hand, moving it a bit to get the right spot. After a good minute, I pushed his hand away. I didn't want to but I had to. I laid down and signalling him with my head to get on.
He followed my order happily and hopped on, wrapping his hand around my neck and gripping onto my fur. I stood up slowly and grabbed the clothing in my mouth once again.
I waggled my tail and gave one last bark before we were off to find his mother and my mate.
