~Mia's pov~

"Yes. We are going to the meeting. May I ask- Who are you?" The girl beside Jared asked, eyeing me up and down.

Think of something..

"Oh! I'm just a fan of Mr.Hudson's work! I didn't realize I was keeping you from doing business. I'll be on my way." I replied calmly, the girl tisking at me and then turning her attention to Jared.

"Actually, if you are a fan of his work, I can bring you in as my plus one. Everyone is doing it anyway." Jared waved his hand in the air.

"Oh no- it's okay. I don't want to intrude." I said nervously, I could feel tiny beads of sweat forming.

"No- no- I insist!" Jared kept pushing it.

Think of a lie.. Think of a lie..

"Oh- Sorry I forgot to water my dog and feed my plant. So that means I need to go home." I mixed up my words.

I had one job to make up a lie, yet I still manage to mess it up! What's wrong with me?

"Oh- okay. Thanks for the help anyway." Jared replied back.

"Your welcome.. Bye!" I walked out of the building but before I left, I heard Jared's girlfriend say pretty loudly, that I'm starting to think that she wanted me to hear it.

"I think she has problems. First she tries to steal you, MY man. And she can't even form a normal sentence!"

"Stacy! That's not very nice! She helped me find the building when you weren't there! You were probably shopping and you just left me in the streets for a freaking Gucci bag!" Jared argued, fuming.

"But baby! The price of the bag was twenty percent off! It was a good deal!" Stacy whined, tugging at Jared's arm who was still mad.

I stopped eavesdropping in their conversation and headed out the door. The cool air whipping my face, my cheeks turning bright red. Heading towards the grocery store right after, as I remembered that there was almost nothing in the fridge, or cabinets. Walking towards the store, I got a shopping cart and got all that was necessary.

I was at the cashier, paying for the items, until I got a phone call.

"Hello, who's this?" My voice answered.

"Hi Mia, your best friend's calling." Tera said with sass.

"What do you want now?" I said, rolling my eyes.

"Well I actually have a good question."

"What is it Tera?" I sighed.

"Well- how do you work the microwave? It has a lot of fancy buttons and I don't know which one to pick. Where's the cook-your-precooked-meal button? Like- Google doesn't even know what to do since your microwave is pretty old and-"

I hung up the call.

I rolled my eyes and sighed in annoyance. She does this every time I leave her alone in my house. Imagine being best friends for nearly 4 years straight and still not knowing how to work the microwave! I grabbed my shopping bags and walked home, taking a small stroll through Central Park, then fully heading to my destination.

I opened the door, and out came Karroll, running as fast as he can. I shook my head at him.

Poor dog, he probably doesn't know that this whole area is dog proof and is fenced off.

I strolled towards the kitchen, seeing a bored looking Mason, Alexander, and Kris, while a frustrated looking Tera was trying to figure out which button to press on the microwave.

"It's the button on the right hand corner, Tera." I called out, shocking her and the boys, but I just ignored them and put the groceries away.

Tera mumbled a thank you, then served all the boys and herself for some food. We all chatted about what happened in the time we were apart.

"Mommy! You know Mason and Kris are heading to Canada in a couple of days for vacation!"

"Wow- really? That's really cool!"

"Yeah, and their mom wanted to meet you. She wants to appreciate for what you've done for them, meaning that you allowed them to stay over." Alexander rambled, chirping happily.

"I would love to, let's finish up here then we'll send them home okay?"

"Yes Mommy." Alexander agreed, chatting with his friends.

"You know that Jessica quit work for a man right?" Tera whispered, gossiping with me.

"Wait really? No way! Was it with Matt?" I gasped, interested in this new found information.

"Yeah! It's the news all over our group chat. The principal figured out that they were the one who spread the rumors about him behind his back. It was pretty predictable, if you think about it."

"I agree, who would do such a thing?"

"Them, obviously." Tera said sarcastically, finishing with her food and helping me wash the dishes.

Currently, we were all dressed up, ready to walk to Serendipity to get some glorious- the all time famous, Serendipity ice cream. I made sure we all had our mittens and beanies to go with  our jackets. It was pretty cold out, and I didn't want to be responsible for three sick kids and one sick best friend. After fifteen minutes of complaining and whining from the kids, we finally arrived at the place and the children rushed in, getting warmth inside the building.

Alexander sniffled, his nose and cheeks bright red, his eyes filled with happiness and delight, making me smile. We took a seat that I reserved a week ago, looking through the menu, prentending to look through it.

"Hi, I'll be your server today, what would you like?"

"Ice cream! Ice cream!" The boys chanted, gleaming.

I nodded at the waiter, which she immediately took out her notepad and a pen,

"How many would you like?"

I looked towards Tera, our silent conversation started.

'Would you like one?' I asked,

'Heck yeah I do! Who do you think I am?'

'I don't know- Spongebob?' I rolled my eyes, sarcasm dripping off of my words.

'Oh shush! I'm Krusty Crabs.'

'How many should we get?'

'Eh- why not go all out? Get 5.'

'You know the boys! They can hardly finish one each!'

'Then get four, they can share two ice creams while we get our own, alright?'

'Okay.'

I blinked and our conversation was over. I smiled at the waitress, who was waiting patiently, and talking to the children.

"Yes, we will be getting four ice creams. Please." I replied, giving her a sweet smile, as she wrote it down on her notepad and saying that our order will arrive shortly.

"Mommy! Mommy! Look! It's Mason's and Kris's Mommy!" Alexander said excitedly, tugging at my jacket.

I stopped my conversation and looked at where he was pointing at, a brunette girl came into view, in high heels and in a black dress.

"Alexander, what was Kris's and Mason's last name?"

"It's Mason and Kris Marie."
