~Alexander's pov~

All the colour drained from my face as I saw my mother fall to the ground, blood leaking from her neck staining the dirt that she laid on. Tears were streaming down my face, as I held my hand up to my mouth. I look back at the house, contemplating on getting help. I looked back at my mom, then the house. I went with the safest solution and ran to the house.

"Auntie Tera! Mom is bleeding outside! Help her!" I yelled, running towards Auntie Tera who was washing the dishes and tugged at her skirt.

"What happened Alexander?" Auntie Tera asked calmly, kneeling down at my level.

"We don't have time for this! Mom might die out there! We need to hurry!" My frantic voice cried out, tears were streaming faster than before.

Auntie Tera stood up and held my hand. We made our way towards the window that displayed the backyard. "Alexander, your mother is fine she probably has a little scratch from falling down or someth-" Auntie Tera stopped speaking as she looked out the window, revealing her best friend slowly bleeding to death. Auntie Tera made a ear-piercing scream, dropping the plate which was still in her hand. The plate shattered into millions of glass shards, luckily we had shoes on our feet when that happened. Mason and Kris appeared from the stairs, with confused expressions on their faces. Auntie Tera quickly shut the blinds, covering the horrific scene. Unfortunately for me, the image was already ingrained in my brain. "Mason and Kris go upstairs to the guest bedroom and lock yourself in. I'll call you out when it's safe." Auntie Tera ordered, her voice shaky. They quickly obliged, running upstairs. I heard a small click notifying me that they locked the door already. Auntie Tera let go of my hand and rushed towards the front door, locking it shut. She pushed the heavy cabinet against it.

"Alexander, go into your room and lock the doors too."

"No! I want to help my mom!" I argued.

"Alexander." Auntie Tera warned, her voice taking a dark turn.

"I am not going! My mom is out there and would probably die if we don't do anything about it right now!" I yelled again. I didn't care anymore- I just want my mom to be safe.

"Alexander Croft Hudson! Don't you dare yell at me! Go upstairs now!" Auntie Tera yelled back at me, making me flinch.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, then exhaled. I opened my eyes and slowly backed away from her- towards the back door which leads to the backyard. "I dare you Alexander. Go ahead!" Auntie Tera taunted, she was  very angry, but I could care less. I won't go down without a fight. "Looks like it's your lucky day, I love dares." I say with a small smile, then I was out the door, running towards my mom. I pushed myself to my limits, my curly hair flew behind me as I ran faster. My tears dried against my cheekbones, my eyes puffy and red from crying. I was right before my mother and took in the horrific sight that would scar me. I quickly knelt down, turning my mom around so that she faced the sky.

"Mom.." I say slowly shaking her.

"Mom!" I shook her some more.

"Mom- Wake up!" I kept shaking her.

"Mommy! Please wake up!" I screamed, shaking her the hardest I could. The tears came back and ran down my cheeks once again. I put my ear on her chest, trying to listen for a heartbeat.

None...

No heartbeat..

"Mom!" I won't give up.

"Mom- Please!" I pleaded. I couldn't give up.

"Don't leave me.." I cried harder, praying that someone would answer me.
