"So I'm happy to cover this section," says Stephanie as she jots down notes on her fresh pad of paper. She continues to write, dark brunette hair falling over her face as she quickly makes notes. "So, Minerva," she says, still looking down, "are you happy to do some research on the historical politics of the time?"
A silence grows and Stephanie looks up, glancing at Minerva who is intently staring at Clementine. Clementine is staring back.
Stephanie drops her pen on her notepad and clears her throat. "Uh... am I missing something here?" she questions, looking to and from Minerva and Clementine.
Clementine blinks once before sighing and opening her notes, "nope everything's fine," she confirms with confidence as she smiles at Stephanie.
Minerva scoffs and rolls her eyes, "yeah right," she mutters before delivering a sickly sweet smile to Stephanie.
Stephanie looks unsure, "right..." she mutters, rifling through her notes. "Minerva... historical politics?" she asks again, brushing her near-black hair away from her face.
"I'll happily cover the political section. I have a feeling it will be quite a laborious task, maybe Clementine can come over to my house and do it with me?" Minerva emphasises the last four words with a sickening drawl and she upturns her lips in a smile. One which shows off too many teeth to be genuine.
"No I need Clementine to cover something else," says Stephanie tucking her dark hair behind her ear, completely missing the true intentions of the redhead's words. Clementine catches the innuendo though and grits her teeth, determined not to give the redhead the attention she's looking for.
"I'll cover anything," says Clementine, lifting her head and smiling at Stephanie. She holds the other girls' gaze, aware of Minerva looking at her with a smirk from the corner of her eye.
Stephanie beams, "that's great," she says with glee elating her voice. "I have a feeling we're going to ace this presentation guys." Minerva smiles at Stephanie when the other girl looks at her but when Stephanie turns her smile to Clementine, the brunette watches as Minerva's fake smile turns into a sneer. Directed at the back of Stephanie's head.
Clementine sighs and looks back over to Violet who's sitting on a table on the other side of the library. As Violet feels a pair of eyes settle on her she looks up, surveying the library until she meets Clementine's amber irises. The blonde offers up a sympathetic smile that Clementine returns almost immediately. She feels a comforting warmth spread through her body as she takes in Violet's comforting expression.
"Oh Clementine," comes the sing-song voice of Minerva, "your attention belongs to me now."
The brunette rolls her eyes and reluctantly looks back to her table. Stephanie flits her eyes between the two girls and clears her throat as she attempts to dilute the obvious tension that's radiating from those she's partnered with.
"Do you guys need to get something off your chests," says Stephanie as she slowly gathers her belongings. Ready to leave the table and the awful atmosphere she's stuck in the middle of.
"Not right now," says Clementine with a sign as she rubs her temples to break down her building headache. Minerva cocks her head at that comment and leans forward in her seat, resting her elbows on the table.
"Okay," says Stephanie, still sounding uncertain. She looks to Clementine for reassurance, the brunette nods, ignoring Minerva's attempts to get her to look over.
Frustrated by Clementine's stubbornness and lack of reaction to her comments, Minerva allows a sly smile to grow on her face. Underneath the table, she stretches out her leg until she comes into contact with the brunette, and with a grin on her face, she runs her leg up and down Clementine's calf in a seductive manner.
