Clementine walks through the main hallway of Ericsons with her books held to her chest, she takes in the students chattering around her, the familiar faces who smile at her and the feeling of happiness that uplifts her spirits. She approaches her locker and enters the code placing her bag on the floor while she rifles through the contents of the cabinet looking for her history books.
At the back of her locker, she spots the purple spine of her history book and reaches her arm in to grab it. Suddenly the movement of the locker swinging on its hinge causing her to quickly remove her arm, her left wrist and fingers getting trapped in the door as the locker slams shut. Clementine yelps and yanks her hand back feeling pain radiate through her fingers as an anger bubbles beneath her skin.
She's about to moan at Louis for making her jump, for closing the locker too hard and for trapping her fingers in its door even if it was an accident. But as she pulls away from the locker and turns to jokingly swat her good hand at him she halts, her amber eyes meeting with Minerva's blue orbs. Any thoughts that remain in her head telling her whoever slammed her locker that hard didn't mean it disappear, and she scowls at the taller girl who's leaning casually against the wall as if she's done nothing wrong.
"What the fuck?" Clementine shouts, the clanging of her locker still ringing through her ears, she rubs her sore fingers and wrist as she stares down Minerva. The redhead takes a step closer to Clementine while looking her up and down, "have you seen Violet?" is all she says.
Clementine scoffs glancing down at her swollen fingers "why do you want to know?" she replies retuning Minerva's stare.
"Cos, she's been ignoring me all weekend to hang out with you instead," Minerva scowls as she spits out her words and Clementine glances at her feet trying to hide her smile, the redhead takes another step closer to the brunette, so their faces are only inches apart. Clementine can smell her strong perfume and see the freckles dashed upon Minerva's cheeks and nose; her large eyes are framed with a thick stroke of black eyeliner which makes her light blue eyes seem even more piercing than usual. Clementine sees why Violet ran to Minerva over and over again, she's beautiful, it's a shame that her looks are soured by her manipulating personality.
Minerva huffs sensing that she won't be getting any information from Clementine and she takes a step backwards "fine" she states giving Clementine one final lingering gaze before turning on her heel and retreating down the corridor. The brunette watches her go, lifting her sore hand to her face to inspect her throbbing skin and trembling fingers, is that from the injury or the adrenaline coursing through her body after that interaction with Minerva? She guesses it's both.
Clementine forces herself to steadily breathe out releasing all the tension that's weighing down her shoulders, she opens her locker once more and grabs the history book that got her into this situation. She feels a hand rest on her shoulder and scowls as she turns ready to give Minerva a piece of her mind, angered that the redhead has come back to harass her once more.
"Why don't you just- Oh...Violet" Clementine's face flushes red as she spins around, catching Violet's blonde hair in her peripheral vision and realising her mistake. She fully turns so she's facing Violet, whose eyebrows are raised in confusion. Just looking at the blonde makes Clementine's anger fade away and she smiles broadly as she gingerly reaches for one of Violet's hands.
"Why don't I?" questions Violet still lacing her fingers between Clementine's and giving her a reassuring squeeze, Clementine winces at the pressure and finds herself pulling her hand away harshly as the pain radiates through her fingers, she dips her head as she hisses in pain, the lip of her baseball cap hiding her face. Violet immediately looks concerned and dips her head until she can see Clementine's eyes which are closed, Clementine puffs out air to rid herself of the pain. "Are you okay, Clem?" she asks tentatively taking Clementine's arm and lifting it up so the lights in the corridor reveal the red marks and swollen fingers.
