I watched as Tyson played Go Fish with Dick, a small smile on my face. I leaned backwards and shifted until I was comfortable.

It was a nice simple relaxing day, at least until Alfred answered a knock at the door.

"Hey dude, you ready to go ki-ite flying?" A ginger ran into the room, a large grin on his face. "Uh...did you get new friends or something?"

"Sure, Wally. Oh and Percy's my cousin who lives here now, and Tyson is her half brother who also lives here now."

"Sup?" I waved. "And did you even bring a kite?"

"I uh...left it by the door." Wally rubbed the back of his neck.

"Cool, hey Tyson toss me the paper."

The paper came hurtling through the air and I caught it a moment before it hit my face.

I struggled through the print, only to see it was something about the sidekicks.

I groaned and let my head drop back. "Why do people think it's okay to let kids fight?"

"Uh...why don't you think it's okay?" Wally asked.

"Because they're kids? Because they have their whole lives ahead of them and they shouldn't be doing something so dangerous? I don't see any reason kids should be fighting."

I know, I sound like a hypocrite. But it's different for demigods. Our whole lives are dictated by who our parent happened to be.

And our existence puts us in danger, so we have no other choice but to fight. Well, I mean we do but that choice is death.

"If it's their choice to do it, I don't see how it's an issue. I mean, what if they looked up to a hero and recreated the way they got their powers or something and then they joined in the hero buisness?" Wally asked.

"And what happens when they die?" I stood up.

"If they're smart, they won't." Wally said.

I laughed. "Haven't you ever heard of the saying, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain? They'll get hurt, it's unavoidable."

"Why are you so against this? Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, all of them have made the world a better place by helping put villains away. You should be grateful."

"For what? Kids having to do grownups jobs? Listen carrottop, I'll be grateful for what heroes do when they stop putting children in harm's way. And when they apologize for attacking Tyson." I gestured to my brother, who was now coloring with some jumbo crayons.

He's....I know he's a monster, in the sense that he's a cyclops. And I know he's a general but...he's still so young.

He deserves some form of normalcy. I know we can never really have it, but I want him to know what it's like.

I spent so much of my life dealing with Gabe and them as soon as I was rid of him, I had to deal with the gods.

"If they were attacking him, he had to have given them a reason. I saw the footage, the guy's a monster!"

"I...I'm a monster?" Tyson looked up, tears welling in his eye.

I glared at Wally. "Don't you ever call him that again or I will kill you."

I walked over to Tyson and knelt down. "Tyson, we both know that you're not like the others. You're sweet and good and nice and I don't deserve you as a brother. You're not a monster. You're the General of the Cyclops army. You're a son of Poseidon, which I know a lot of cyclops are but...I know Dad cares about you. And I care about you."

He smiled and pulled me into a loose hug before releasing me and going back to coloring.

I sighed and stood up, turning to look back at Wally. "I'll give you a piece of advice, don't ever try to defend sidekicks to me. There's no point for kids to need to fight. To be put in danger. I mean how many superheroes are there?"

"They can't do everything by themselves. Robin helped Batman put away the man who killed my parents." Dick mumbled.

I pressed my lips together and looked away. "It doesn't make it right. He was so young when he first started. He was like eight. Who in their right mind would put him in danger?"

"I'm pretty sure Aqualad is sixteen." Wally said.

"And? He's still too young to be put into danger like this."

Actually I don't have too much of an issue with Kaldur being Aqualad.

He's Atlantean. They have to serve in the military when they're twelve. He was raised to fulfill his duty.

Kinda like demigods are raised to fight.

Our argument continued for a little while longer, until Bruce came in and broke us apart. For the record I was super close to punching Wally in the face.

"Percy, go to your room and think about Wally's side of the argument. Wally, Dick, you two come with me. I need you to do something."

I huffed and stalked away, my hands still clenched into fists. I walked into my room, slamming my door behind me.

I sat on my bed before falling backwards pressing my hands to my eyes.

How can they think it's okay to put kids in danger? You'd think two people who watched their parents die would want to make sure kids are raised correctly.

Not with some penchant for dressing up and beating up people who they think are wrong.

How many demigods would they think are evil?

What would they think of what I've done?
