ELLA TWISTED AND turned in her bed. When she snuck in, her parents were asleep, so there was nothing to be said until the morning. She went straight to bed after Cap dropped her off, seeing it was one in the morning at that time, but forty-three minutes passed and she still couldn't get herself to sleep.
She felt wrong. Everything was wrong. She and Ashton weren't on speaking terms, she had just witnessed one person getting shot in the arm, three people in the head, which obviously instantly killed them. And Ella had never seen anyone get killed before.
It was horrifying.
Ella wanted to cry, sleep, and feel loved. To her, it was like she was following through with life but not vibing with it. Nothing felt right and when it did, it was only around him.
She removed the covers from her body and got dressed in a random black oversized top, a mini denim skirt, and of course, a pair of heels from her pyjamas.
Disregarding the fact that her parents were still home, she didn't pay any mind to it as she went straight into her car and drove to Ashton's penthouse.
Being here so often, she was accustomed to the security of the hotel. Entering the pin in the elevator, she was shocked to find out that his passcode was still her birthday and it brought a smile onto her face.
Although being physically near Ashton put her mind at peace, something inside her didn't feel right, yet she couldn't determine what it was. And she didn't think of it as anything until the elevator doors sprung open and revealed a female's moan from the bedroom.
"Hailey, arch your back." Ella heard Ashton instruct.
Hailey softly moaned in response and that was all she needed to hear for her to immediately press the elevator button back to the lobby. The door closed again and began moving down.
A small tear fell from her eye and she didn't realise she was crying until her vision became blurry. All she could think about was the fact that Ashton had given himself to another girl.
He had been her first, and she was his. They had never slept with anyone else, until now.
She made it safely to her car and sat there, looking out at the dark. It was only her fault. What was she thinking coming to Ashton's penthouse anyways? They weren't together, and she knew he was interested in that poor, new girl from the way he acted at school towards her.
All in all, Ella hated herself. Hated this situation. Hated the world.
She didn't have any right to be feeling what she was feeling. She broke Ashton's trust and heart when he walked in on what it looked like her breaking a kiss with another guy, half-naked. Now it was her karma, walking into him having sex with another female. She was glad that she didn't see the two but only heard the affair.
Opening up a compartment drawer in her car, Ella retrieved tissues to wipe her tears and blow her nose. Composing herself into her emotionless demeanour, she concluded that she still couldn't sleep.
Going to Lily wasn't an option. She was already dealing with her pregnancy problems and Ella didn't want to place her in any more stress. Then, there was Christian.
Ella softly shook her head, knowing there was no way in hell would she could ever go to Christian for comfort. He would tell her to suck it up and go to sleep as if it was an easy task to do.
She really had no one.
Slumping into her driver's seat, she thought of Cap. She had just seen him close to an hour ago and didn't know if going to him would intrude. Deciding that it was worth a shot, she drove down to the trenches.
