(AN: I'm sorry for the interruption, but. I want to apologize if anyone is ooc or if I end up not following the storyline! -Amaya-Chan)

I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping outside my window, rolling over I blinked against the bright sun rays that shined through my open window. I must've forgotten to shut it last night. Shrugging, I slipped out of bed and lifted my arms up high and leaned backwards. Grinning at the sound of my bones popping.

I walked over to the floor length mirror on the far side of my bedroom and grimaced at my reflection. Taking my hair brush, I tamed my knotted blonde hair. Taking extra precautions to avoid my soft ears. They were still sore from having to hide them at school from the previous week.

After my hair was detangled, I danced out of my room and spun into the bathroom right before kagome, my younger sister, reached it. "Sorry sis!"

I sang as I closed the door.

"Ai! No fair!"

Kagome shouted whilst banging on the bathroom door.

Her noises ceased for a brief moment,

"Happy birthday Ai."

I heard her footsteps pad away.

I frowned to myself. she sounded unhappy.

Shrugging it off, I started my routine with brushing my teeth. Next, I washed my face and started my makeup.

Just some light foundation and cover up to hide the small marking on my cheeks, I leave the ones on my forehead alone, my bangs hide those just fine.

I hated hiding my markings, I thought they were beautiful, but gramps thought it was for the best. Gramps said people get scared of things they don't understand, and I guess I would be in that category.

Finishing up in the bathroom I yelled towards the kitchen,

"Kagome! Bathrooms free!"

"Thanks, Ai!" I heard her reply.

Smiling to myself, I walked towards the kitchen and started making breakfast, so mom didn't have to. Just something simple, eggs and biscuits. With some sausage gravy on the side, since it was my favorite.

I finished cooking right when mom walked in, still rubbing sleep from her tired face.

"Happy birthday dear," she smiled.

"You didn't have to cook!"

"It's okay mom, I wanted to." I returned the happy face.

I know she wasn't my real mom, but she's been kind to me over the years. Even though I know gramps was the one to take me in. Gramps was like the dad I never got to have.

"Do you have any plans for this morning?" Mom asked softly, sitting down to eat her breakfast.

"I think I'm going to take a walk with Kagome, after she showers."

I mused, absently washing my dishes.

"Okay, just try and be back by supper."

"Alright."

I turned back to busy myself and that's about the time Kagome and Sota walked down the stairs.

"Morning Sota!" I grinned.

Ruffling his hair when he walked closer.

"Happy birthday sis!" He smiled brightly back at me.

"Yes, Happy birthday little fox." Gramps mumbled as he came inside.

Looking in his direction my face lit up. In his arms was a little fox plushie, his head a little too big and his body a little too stuffed.

"Is he for me?" I danced in place.

Gramps chuckled and nodded.

"I know how you love the little creatures. Are you going out?" He questioned, eyeing my walking shoes.

I nodded and smacked my head with my palm,

"I meant to ask! Kagome, want to go for a walk?"

"Yeah, sure."

"Oh while you're out, can you see if you can find buyo? He ran into that creepy shrine and hasn't come back yet." Sota asked, giving us the puppy eyes.

Sighing, I agreed.

"You know I can't say no to those eyes!" I gasped dramatically, throwing an arm over my eyes.

"Be back before late dear!" Gramps demanded.

I waved him off with a smile and me and Kagome ventured out.

It was a peaceful walk up the hill, not really sharing any words between the two of us.

Upon entering the shrine was a different story.

I shivered and my ears twitched,

"Kagome, this place is creepy as fuck." I stated bluntly.

"Ai! Language." She rolled her eyes.

I rolled mine back and strolled in, clutching my fox doll.

"This is where gramps found me," I whispered stopping in front of the well.

Kagome watched as I looked around, solemnly.

"I haven't been in here since."

"Why not?" Kagome asked softly, walking up next to me.

I shrugged, that's a good question.

"I guess...I didn't want to think about it?" I was very unsure.

"Aren't you happy?" Kagome pried.

"Of course!" I said hastily in reply.

"Sometimes...I wonder though...ya know? All the what if's and all. But I'm happy! With you and gramps and mom and Sota!" I rambled on, scratching the back of my head.

A loud noise made both of our heads snap in the direction, closer to the well.

Kagome shouted when buyo darted last her legs.

"Buyo! You scared me!" She failed the fat cat.

He meowed from his spot at the top of the stairs and hissed at the well that I was still staring at.

Arms suddenly shot out and enveloped my body, pulling me in. Kagome was dragged along as well as she gripped my arms trying to save me.

Screaming we fell together and that's when I got a look at what pulled us in. I screamed a little louder and struggled harder. A growl rumbling out of my chest, almost shocking me, as I failed to get away from the ugly centipede lady.

The skeleton key around my neck burned hot as I felt myself want to fight, when I couldn't flee. I felt my nails growing longer and sharper and he key burning hotter and starting to glow. It made me feel drained, but I didn't feel scared. Of myself I mean, I was terrified of the centipede creature.

The creature started shouting about a jewel? And licked Kagome a face

"Oh gross," I gagged.

And Kagome looked disgusted, "I don't have any jewel!" She shouted and kicked at the monster.

Suddenly the creature lost an arm after Kagome released some sort of light and we gently landed at the bottom of the well. Taking deep breaths, we looked at each other with wide eyes.

"I must've hit my head or something!" We said in unison and looked at each other again. Laughing it off.

"I guess...we fell in?" And I started climbing.

Once out, I took a breath and rolled onto the grass. A wave of fatigue washing over my now sore body.

"Kagome," I breathed.

"Yeah?"

"I don't think we're in Tokyo anymore."
