I ended up following Kagome around, well until we stumbled upon a dude pinned to a tree. By an arrow in the heart. That was comforting. That's not the part that Kagome was caught up with though, she walked up to the guy and felt up his ears.
"He has ears like you Ai!" Kagome smiled.
I twitched my ears in her direction and blushed.
"Stop feeling the guy up!" I groaned at her.
Kagome flushed red,
"I'm not feeling him up!" She defended herself.
"Pffft. You so are." I giggled, with a mischievous glint in my eye.
"I bet you think he's cute!"
"Do not!"
"Do to!"
"Get away from him!" A man suddenly shouted, causing both of us to jump away from the limp body of the man.
I glared at Kagome from my spot next to her in the middle of a strange village.
"This is your fault...you felt up the guys they don't like."
"I did not feel him up!" She whined.
"I'm not allowed to touch your ears and I needed to feel them. They looked soft." She added begrudgingly.
I tried to shift my hands in the binds, no use.
"You didn't have to tie us up!" I shouted angrily at the villagers. They took a step back from me. Almost like they were scared of me. That would be silly though. I'm harmless, mostly.
"I never said you couldn't touch mine, they're just sensitive." I added to Kagome to break the silence.
Kagome just ignored me. I think she's displeased that I'm angry. I'm not angry though, just tired and cranky.
A lady parted the gathered men that surrounded us and took us in before opening her mouth to speak,
"Why have ye come to the forest of Inuyasha?" She questioned, circling us.
"What business do ye have so close to our village?" She continued.
"I think there's a misunderstanding." I muttered uneasily.
"I don't want to hear from ye half demon." The old woman stated.
"I'm-I...what?" I stammered confused.
She ignored me and looked to Kagome.
"Is she controlling you? Kidnapped you?" She asked my sister.
"What? No! Ai's my sister! My adopted sister!" She defended.
"We are sorry to intrude, we're just a long way from home..." Kagome trailed off, looking away.
The old woman bent down closer to Kagome and took her in before seeming to understand something.
After we were untied and back in the old woman's cottage she introduced herself as Kaede. She was sweet, now that she knew we meant no harm.
Kagome rubbed her raw wrists, from where the rope cut in to her skin and kaede shares her stew with us.
I smiled kindly at her,
"Thank you for welcoming us into your home."
"Oh it's no trouble dears." Kaede waved me off.
Kagome sipped loudly on her stew and looked to be deep in thought.
"Why was-" she started before the ground started shaking, followed by loud crashes and screaming.
All three of us looked at each other before hurrying out of the little home.
Destroying the village was that ugly centipede lady from before.
"Where is the jewel!" The creature shrieked smashing into another home.
"Why does she keep shouting about a jewel?" I quietly muttered.
I obviously missed something about a bone eater well? Because the next thing I know Kagome is running towards the forest of Inuyasha. I started running after her,
"Kagome wait! Where are we going?"
I shouted over the noise.
"We're luring her towards the light and away from the village!" She yelled back and picked up her pace.
"What light?" I yelled, confused. Slowing down.
Big mistake on my part, really.
The creature shrieked past me, startling me to the ground. And my skeleton key necklace was ripped off as I fell.
I panicked watching it fly, I've never taken it off. Ever. It's the only thing I have left from my mother, besides my old baby blanket back home. I scrambled to go after it, but it fell into a stream and was caught up against some rocks. Luckily the current was weak.
Taking a deep sigh of relief, I jumped into the pool to go after it, and that's when I noticed the tail. No, tails, I had three suddenly and I wasn't tired anymore. If anything I felt very alive.
Shuddering I collected my precious key and shoved it into my skirt pocket for safe keeping.
I'd deal with the added additions to my body later, but for now I need to find Kagome.
I started running through the forest blindly when I heard a loud commotion to my right, turning that way I found Kagome with that man from earlier, only now he was very much alive. Looking around I saw the centipede was dead and Kaede was holding a small jewel in her hands.
"I guess we have a lot to talk about now." Kaede stared and started walking back towards the village.
