i was getting kind of nervous. obviously calum's different. he caught my attention since the first time i saw him, and i think i actually might like him.
"so yesterday.." he trailed off, looking as if he was hoping for me to finish his sentence.
"yeah?" i said, not knowing if it sounded rude or not.
"okay, let's just get to the point and avoid awkwardness. i like you syerra," calum said, not once breaking our eye contact, "ever since my first day, you've kind of stuck out to me. i don't know if it was your bleach blonde hair that made you pop out, or just how-" he was interrupted by the buzzing of my phone.
"butt🙊🙈
iMessage" appeared on the screen.
it's zach. i opened it to get rid of the notification. i said sorry to calum, and let him keep going on.
"anyways, i just like you syerra. you're different."
"what's that supposed to mean?"
"a good different, i can't really explain it. different than any of the other girls here."
i sat there silent because i wasn't sure how to respond. how do i answer without making it awkward?
"to be honest, you literally just described the exact same way i feel. it's weird, i don't usually like guys my age. but it's different with you, i don't know why."
and with that, our lips connected. everything just felt so right. it wasn't awkward at all. it's as if we've done it a million times. it all had flown so naturally; i never wanted to part. i had no air, but at the same time, i could breathe perfectly fine.
a dreadful parting, led to an intriguing next couple of seconds. we held an eye contact that was blissful and warm.
it was then, we both knew, what had just happened, was special. we felt deeply, though we hadn't known each other but a couple of days. and we realized something:
we had fallen.. for each other.
