Chapter seven

 Chapter seven

It was hard to make out what it was, it was glowing a faint blue light.

Piper tried to focus her eyes on it more, but the more she tried the harder it was to tell. The faint glow was literally making it impossible to make out the shape of the object. One thing for sure though, it wasn't the sunlight that was doing this.

Out of great curiosity, she took another glance at it to make sure it was still there before heading down to the kitchen. She sneaked inside and hid behind the countertop, waiting almost impatiently for one of the maids to leave. Once the maid left, she went over to the back door and went outside. 

She ran over to the spot where she saw the blue light, which was at the back of the mansion where the hedge maze was. Once she got there, she couldn't see the peculiar blue light anywhere. She looked up to her bedroom window and stood under it, facing the direction where she saw the light. 

She walked over to the area Infront of her, which consisted of one of the gardens fountain's along with some rose bushes surrounding it. She walked over to the fountain and looked in the water, where she found a blue gem lying at the bottom. 

She was stunned for a moment, staring at the familiar gem as it stared back at her from below. She slowly reached into the water to grab it, but stopped as it suddenly glowed. Piper watched as it continued to glow a faint blue light, as if it was calling out to her. Her hand submerged into the water and reached for the gem, it glowed brighter as her hand got closer until she grabbed it and took it out from the water.

Water droplets fell down from its surface as she brought it up to her face. She looked at her reflection in it, before holding it in two hands. It glowed brighter than before in her palms, leaving her as to wonder why it was here. Tails never said they had any chaos emeralds, so how did this get here? 

Perhaps the reason why they were going after Metal Sonic was because he had an emerald, THIS emerald. But if the emerald's here, then there's no doubt that metal Sonic is indeed here too. Just lost somewhere, somewhere.....what if he's still on the same order of finding this emerald? If he was, then he's bound to be somewhere nearby. 

Piper looked back at her bedroom window, thinking about all the ways that robot would show his presence to her right now. But nothing came. She sighed and went into the hedge maze, on her way to Sonic and Tails. 

As soon as she stepped foot over the fence, she walked forward and decided to call for them as soon as she was sure she has went deep enough into the forest. She held the emerald close to her chest the whole way through, she could almost feel the buzzing energy from it as it continued to glow brightly in her hands.

After a few minutes she began to call for them. "Sonic! Tails!" 

No answer, she decided to call for them again. "Soooooooniiic! Taaaaaaiiils!" 

When she didn't hear them answer, she stopped walking and began to think of another way. Until an idea popped in her head. "Chili dog!"

In a split second, a huge gust of wind blew back the leaves of bushes and trees. Piper shut her eyes as the wind blew her hair back as well as make her shirt ruffle. When she opened them again, there stood classic Sonic himself looking around eagerly before frowning. 

She smiled at his antics before kneeling down to his height. "Hey buddy, sorry for tricking you like that but it was my only option" 

Sonic shook his hands and gave her a thumbs up, before noticing the blue emerald in her hands. He pointed at it confounded, as Piper held it out in her palms Infront of him. "I found it outside in the back garden, I thought I should give it to you"
