First Mission with the Akatsuki

Alice's POV:

Kisame places some bread in the toaster for me and walks off saying something about a meeting and for me not to go wondering off.

I sit at the table drinking some orange juice trying to think of how I surrounded myself with flames. It was rather unusual how I just happen to use fire and water style when my life is being threatened.

The toast pops up and I go and spread some honey I found onto it. Taking a bite I take the plate over with me to the table. 'I wonder how the others are doing back at the hidden leaf' I think to myself. "I miss them" I sigh eating the rest of my toast.

I place my plate and cup in the sink then make my way to the living room which happens to be next to the kitchen. The hideout is too quiet. I wonder what they are talking about in the meeting.

Sitting down on the couch I turn the TV on and flick through random channels. "God I'm do bored" I moan laying out on the sofa. The sun beams through the window warming my skin. I miss being outside so much. I get off the sofa and head towards the small window. There's a few birds flying around and a squirrel burying his food. I reach out and try the handle on the window just so I can at least hear the birds. A large hand grabs mine just as I am about to open the window.

"What do you think your doing?" the voice growls and I am dragged away from the window. "I-I w-wasn't trying to escape. Believe me please!" I plead knowing a punishment awaits. "Well it looked like you were to me" Pein states dragging me towards his office.

I try to get away but as always I fail. He throws me into his offices and slams the door behind him. I get up and back away from him as far as I can till my back is at the wall. "Y-you don't have to do this. I promise I wasn't escaping" I say shacking at my fear.

He doesn't answer only taking a kunai from his desk as he gets closer to me. I make a break for the door hoping to avoid my punishment. Of course he sees my useless attempt and pulls me towards him with his jutsu. Pein pushes me against the wall and my breathing quickens as I panic.

He takes the kunai and runs it's tip over the wound on my shoulder. I whimper "D-don't please!" he sticks the kunai's blade slowly into my shoulder reopening the wound. I start crying from the pain and scream.

Pein sits at his desk as I slide down the wall and sit on the floor. The kunai is still sticking out of my shoulder but I daren't move it because of the pain. "I hope you have learnt your lesson. Go see Kakazu to get you shoulder fixed and return to your room. Hidan will get you later for your first mission. Don't even think about running away" his deep voice sounds through his office.

I get up not wanting to be in his presence any longer and leave his office. I shakily make my way to Kakazu's room. Deidara spots me and gives me a concerned look. "What happened? Who did this?" I ignore him. "I hate this place!" I yell running into Kakazu's room.

I bury my face into Kakazu's duvet trying to calm down. I hear Kakazu groan annoyed. "You could of knocked! you made me loose count" he growls. I ignore him and yelp when he touches my shoulder. He sighs "What did you do this time?". I hold tightly onto the duvet. "Pein thought I was trying to escape when I wasn't" I sniffle into the pillow. I feel Kakazu grab the kunai and I tense up. "Relax your arm otherwise it will hurt more". I do as he says but grab hold of the duvet with my other hand gripping it tightly.

He pulls it out slowly and I wince in pain and grit my teeth. After he's removed it he places a damp towel on my shoulder. "Hold this until the bleeding stops. Stay here while I get some bandages" I hear him leave and sit up holding my shoulder.

Earlier at the meeting...

No ones POV:

All the Akatsuki are gathered round a large table in a hidden room. Pein sits at one end of the table on the biggest chair, while everyone else sits around the rest of the table. "You all know why we are here. Alice needs to be tested in a real battle where we can learn more about her techniques" Peins deep voice echo's through the room. "Kakazu I am sending her with you and Hidan to retrieve the two tails".

"Why put the bitch with us. She can go die for all I care" Hidan moans earning a whack on the head from Kakazu. "We need her power to accomplish our goals Hidan" Pein plainly says. Hidan sighs and leans his head on his hand. "You must get Alice to fight the two tails on her own. She must be pushed to her limit for us to witness the true power of the Okami spirit. Only intervene if her life is in danger. Understood" Pein carries on. Kakazu nods and Hidan smirks. "Can't we just let the two tails kill her and be rid of that bitch for good". Kakazu hits Hidan harder. "Ow that fucking hurt Kakazu" he growls rubbing his head. "Everyone is dismissed" Pein states and everyone makes their leave.

Deidara's POV:

I see Kakazu leave his room so I decide to find out I what happened to Alice. I walk in and find her holding a towel over her wound. Her black hair falls infront of her face and a tear drops to the floor. What happened this time? I walk over to the bed and sit down next to her. She looks up at me with watery eyes. "D-Deidara" she wipes the tears from her eyes trying to calm down. "It's ok. Your safe with me hm" I take the towel from her and apply pressure until Kakazu returns.

Alice's POV:

I grab onto Deidara's cloak as he comforts me. Kakazu returns holding some bandages. "What happened to her?" I hear Deidara ask. Kakazu takes the towel away from Deidara and motions me to sit on his chair like before.

"Leader-sama caught her trying to escape but she says she wasn't" Kakazu informs Deidara. He starts to wipe my shoulder clean of blood. "Ouch!" I flinch when he applies the anticeptic. He then pulls out the old stitches and Deidara puts everything in the bin.

After Kakazu has restitched my wound, he wraps my shoulder and part of my arm in bandages. "Thanks again Kakazu I guess" I sigh and he nods sitting down at his desk once again. I turn to face Deidara. "I want to go home but I know that will never happen. I hate it here Deidara. I'm sick of being ordered around and hurt all the time" I hold back tears not wanting to seem weak anymore. My emotions are all over the place. I've got to stay strong. I'll get out of here one day I've got to.

Deidara was about to say something until someone knocks on the door. "Who is it?" Kakazu asks. Konan walks in and gives me a comforting smile. "Pein-sama told me to take her to her room". Deidara stands up and takes my hand leading me out into the corridor with Konan. "Deidara you can leave now. I promise she will be fine" Konan states taking my hand from Deidara. He smiles "Just stay strong Alice you can get through this" he says and walks towards his room.

"I'm sorry for what Pein has done to you. He hates being disrespected and expects everyone to follow his orders" she says eyeing the many bruises and wounds I have. "It's not just him who frightens me though" I say looking at the floor as we walk. "Hidans hated me since day one, I think Zetsu-san is trying to eat me and...and there's Madara. He's the worst". I shiver at the thought of him.

Konan's POV:

She mentions Madara. Even I'm scared of him. When I'm around him all I can sense is a dark aura of pure power.

I don't think she has figured out that Tobi is actually Madara yet and God help her when she does. I feel sorry for her but there's nothing I can do.

Alice's POV:

We arrive at my room after talking to Konan about my feelings. She cheered me up a little she's always been nice to me. I walk in my room and find some cookies and a glass of milk on my side table. Smiling I face Konan. "Thanks Konan". She smiles back at me. "Your welcome. And your smiling again. Isnt that better?". I nod and say bye to Konan as she locks the door behind her. "If you need anything just find me ok" with that she leaves.

After eating my cookies and drinking my milk, I lay on my bed and take a nap waiting for Hidan to come and take me on my first mission, which of course I'm not looking forward to at all.
