Zach's pov
"Good morning Zach." My nurse, Lila says as she walks into my room. "Morning." I mumble. "Someones still sleepy." She teases smiling. I smile slightly and nod. "Ok, I know how upset you are about having to leave everything behind. Meaning, leaving your family and friends so, I've found someone you could get along with." Lika explains to me. I looked at her confused. "I'll go get him, he's really excited to meet you." She says before walking out. A few minutes, she walks back in with a curly haired boy. "This is Jack, he's 16 and he has Alzheimers. He doesn't remember his friends because of his disease." She explains. I nod and hop of my bed and walk over to him. "Hi, Jack. My names Zach." I say holding my hand out. He shakes my hand smiling. "Hi." He says as we stop shaking hands. The nurse leaves us for some privacy. "So, your apparently my new friend." I say and he nods. "So, you dont remember much then?" I ask. "I don't know." He replies shrugging. I smile slightly and gently pat his arm reassuringly. "It's ok, it'll all get better." I tell him, hoping to reassure him. "No it won't, I can't be saved. I'm basically dying slowly and painfully." He tells me. "Painfully?" I ask confused. "Mentally." He mumbles and I nod. I mean, I guess I'm slowly dying too. I guess its painful too. Mentally. At least I have a new friend. I can tell we'll be by each other sides at all times.
