we waited and waited for hours and hours, we've waited for so long that gabby managed to get a flight down to LA and drive to the hospital.
i started to get more and more nervous as time passes and no doctors or nurses came out to give us information.
i guess everybody seemed to notice my nervousness...
"z, shes gonna be okay. whatever happens, it'll be okay" edwin ensured
"and what if everthings not okay?" i retort
"then we'll figure out how to make it okay"
i just ignored everyone from then on because i knew that if the doctor tells me what i dont wanna hear i know it will never be okay
HOURS LATER
at this point, everybody's asleep on the waiting room chairs, while i am wide awake still overthinking.
im still waiting for any kind of information or details about anissa. its been hours and nothing has came up.
my thoughts were interrupted by the doctor appearing from the swinging doors
"mr kuwonu?" everybody jolts awake and up from their seats
"your wife is still in pain, we'll probably give her some pain meds, see if she gets better from there, she lost alot of blood, she has slashes on her body which we stitched and she has some bruises. but they will fade in about a month or two. and hey she's alive, no need to worry anymore"
the breath i was holding finally was released from my body when the doctor gave the relieving news.
the boys and gabby all took me in for a group hug.
"you guys can go visit her if you'd like, shes in room 106." the doctor nods and leaves
i went to go wake callista up so she can go see her mama.
"hey baby wake up"
"whats wrong daddy?" she asks groggily
"you wanna go see mama?"
"Yea!!" she jolts up and into my arms
the boys and gabby insisted callista and i go first and then they'll go after
we open the door and see anissa in the hospital bed.
"hey mamas" i say to get her attention
"awh my babies" she sounded weak
"Mama!"
"hi baby" i set callista down next to anissa and i pull up a chair next to the bed
"is your booboo okay mama?" callista ask concerned
anissa nods her head without saying a word
i wanted to talk to anissa alone so i took her outside with all the boys, then i walk back into the hospital room.
"how are you doing?" i ask
"im hanging in there" she shows a light smile on her face
i nod sadly looking at all of the IV's hooked up to her and wires everywhere.
my thoughts were interrupted by anissa placing her warm hand on my cheek and wiping away the single tear droplet running down my face
"im okay baby, why are you crying?"
"i dont know i was just really worried and i was scared. i know you're an independent woman and all but i just feel like i cant leave your side anymore. im just terrified. i dont want anything like this happening again so im gonna do everything i can to make sure that the only time you'll ever need to be back here in this hospital room is to have our kids"
