Chapter 12: Return of the doppelganger

Heidi's POV

Hayden and Morris walk up to me all smiles as Hayden looks me up and down and clicks her tongue. "Looks like someone is having a bad day." Hayden says as I take a small step back and look at what her and Morris are wearing. Hayden is wearing a black sexy and tight jumpsuit with a center front zipper on it, black elbow length gloves on both of my hands, a grey belt around my waist, and black knee high heeled boots.

Morrison the other hand is wearing some kind of spartan looking battle suit. 

"Is this a joke? How did the two of you get pass the barrier?" I say still astonished that the two are standing in front of me. Hayden and Morris look at each and smile before Hayden turns her attention back to me and lightly taps my cheek, "I have my ways, you all people should know that I get what I want one way or another." Hayden slightly adjusts something on her head that it took until now to see what exactly it is, on her head is a familiar tiara with a weave of silver and blue that has been sparkled up with crystals, star flower side accents, and a sapphire blue diamond as the centerpiece. "Wait, you are seriously the Queen of the Underworld?" I ask as she excitedly nods her head letting out a dreamy sigh,

"I thought you would be happy now you and Hadie don't have to worry about pleasing dear old daddy" I take a moment as I try to process all of this but I am more concerned about Hayden's welfare. "Hayden, listen to me ruling the Underworld isn't not what you think it is." She puts her hand up to me stopping me mid-sentence, "QUIET! Hayden yells as she as she turns her back to me, "The powers that come with ruling the Underworld are extremely dangerous and will consume you if you don't know how to channel them properly." Hayden takes a deep breath as she lets out a little laugh that doesn't sound like the Hayden I have known at all, "I want to be dangerous, I am going to show not just the people of Auradon but the whole world that I am to be feared, and now that I am queen I have all the power I need to finally take my revenge." Hayden turns back around to face with smile that reminds me too much of my father. 

"It's time for a little payback, and I am going to start with you." I start to panic trying to think of a way to get through to her, "Hayden wait!" I yell but the next thing I know Hayden blasts me with magic sending me flying and crashing through a medium sized table. The sound of Hayden's laughter fills the air, "Let's see how heroic you are now with your normal average life." I push the rumble of the table off of me before trying to make back to my feet. I just barely am able to stand up due to how weak I am. "What did you do to me?" I say look at myself but everything seems normal besides the pain I am feeling after going through the table. "I took what made you special." Hayden holds out a necklace that has dark blue look rock on a sliver chain,

"I took something that you didn't earn but it was given to you." Hayden carefully places the necklace around the neck of Morris. "I took your powers." She and Morris laugh as she runs her hand along the pendant that contains my stole powers. "You will pay the price and so will all of Auradon." She yells with a grin on face that goes from ear to the other. Jay, Carlos, Evie, and Mal all run outside and they quickly start taking in the scene in front of them. "So long suckers." Hayden says in a nasty and mocking tone as she engulfs herself and Morris into red smoke and vanishes.

Once everyone is sure that she is gone Carlos rushes over to me catching me just before I can fall and helps me keep my balance. "She stole my powers." I say breathless and everyone looks at me with the same worried and shocked expression,"Can't Fairy Godmother's wand reverse this?" Jay asks and I slowly shake my head with what I am sure is sadness shining it my eyes at this moment. "She's the Queen of the Underworld now." Everyone looks at one another unsure of what to or how to move forward. "We will think of something to get your powers back Heidi." Carlos says and I put my head on his shoulder as he tightens his grip around me, "Forget about me, Hayden is out for revenge, and all of Auradon is in danger." I say taking a deep breath trying to regain as much strength as I can, "What can we do?" Evie asks and I look at everyone knowing the answer but I also know that no one is going to like the answer. "The only that can counteract her powers now is my father's ember." I say and everyone lets out a frustrated growl and I wish there was another way but the ember is the most powerful object in all of Auradon since Merlin's wand has been missing since he trapped The Chernabog in the special made prison.

"Oh,like he just going to hand it over with any strings attached." Jay says clearly upset, but no one is more upset than me because I have to be the one to ask my father of all people for a favor. "Plus the Underworld is a huge and tricky place, and no one knows the layout of it." I raise my hand feeling the strength coming back to me now, "I do, I know that place like the back of my hand, there is a secret passageway inside that only I know about, and the key is at Duke of Weselton's Tavern." Everyone nods their heads as I can see they are starting to come up with a plan. "We should bring Hadie along to, just in case." I nod my head knowing that if things with my dad got too bad it would good to have my brother close by. "I couldn't agree more."

We all turn and see Gigi Gothel and the twins walk out of the house with a look of panic on their face. "Gigi stay here to take care of the twin, we will be right back and everything will be just fine." Gigi doesn't say anything but she does nod her head pulling the twins closer to her. "Go inside." Gigi quickly takes the twins by their hands and leads them back inside as Evie walks back over to us, "Everyone get their stuff." Carlos, Jay, and Mal all rush inside leaving Evie and I alone. "How do you feel?" I look up at Evie and smile as I sit down in one of the chairs, "Like all the wind was knocked out of me." I see the look of concern on Evie's face as she looks me over, "Heidi, are you sure that you are okay enough to do this?" I stand up on my own two feet still a little wobbly but I am managing okay so far. "I have to, I am the only one that can stop Hayden and her evilness." Evie lightly places her hand on mine as the two of us look each other in our eyes,

"You are not alone in this fight, you have all your friends and family behind you" I sigh smiling back at her but Evie can tell that it is a fake smile. "Thanks Evie, but I am not sure that will be enough this time." Evie sighs herself as the two of us head inside to get geared up to travel back to the Isle.
