Chapter 29: A plan of Action

Heidi's POV

Once Mal flings the doors open and we all make it outside, I see Ben, Gil, Hardie, Jay, Carlos, Jane,Clay, and dude all walking towards the house. "Ben!" Mal laughs as she and Ben hug while the rest of us celebrate with the others. "Are you okay?" Clay asks Uma as the two of them look deep into each other's eyes, Uma nods her head as she turns her attention to Ben and Mal, "I always knew you'd be part of the solution." Ben smiles at Uma who rolls her eyes playfully and smiles back as a dark grim loom comes over the face of Clay. I look over at Ben and Mal and I now notice that Ben has facial hair, and I point out to Mal who just notices it as well, "What is this?" She asks running her hands along Ben's facial hair."Oh yeah." Ben says running his own hand along it, 

"I could get used to this." Mal says as Ben and her both smile at one another,"You like it?" Ben asks as Mal nods her head, "I love this." She says as I walkover to Ben and give him a huge hug, "I see that you found your lost pirate."Ben whispers in my ear low enough that only I can hear him, "Yeah, it is a long story." I whisper back as Ben and I pull out of the hug and find ourselves staring deep into each other's eyes, "What about Henry?" Ben asks and I can seethe look of panic in his eyes and Mal looks between Ben and I puzzled at what is going on between us. "Henry is fine, he was Paul when the curse hit, and the last time I saw him Paul and he were both fast asleep unharmed." Ben lets out a deep sigh of relief and I know that is because Henry has a special place in Ben's heart, god father or not.

"You have to know that I don't blame you for what Hayden is doing or that she cursed me." I nod my head looking down at the ground because a part of me can't help but feel like this is my fault because if I was stronger mentally then I wouldn't have created Hayden in the first place and then none of this would be happening. "I still can't believe that she turned you into a beast, and I know that the only reason that she went after you is because you are important tome." Ben places his finger under my chin and lifts my head up and as I look into his eyes, "You may not remember this, but Hayden and myself had our own little encounter, and she can bring the worst out in anyone, hero or villain."I nod my head as Ben lightly takes his thumb and brushes away the tears that fall from my eyes,

"No one in all of Auradon will blame you Heidi, and if they do then they will have to take it up with me and Mal, but you have my word as king of Auradon that you have my full protection." I smile at Ben giving a huge hug, but the hug in cut short by the sound of a dark growl that I know belongs to Harry, "I think my husband is getting upset." Ben smiles at me and as he does it is the first time that I notice something. "What about those?" I ask pointing to the fangs that Ben is sporting, "Oh." Ben says opening his mouth a little bit and fully showing off the beastly fangs, "No." Mal says with a giggle she walks over to Ben and I as Ben and I smile at her, 

"I like them." I nod my head agreeing with him, "I second that, they seem to fit you perfectly." The three of us start laughing as Mal breaks up the moment and gets everyone back on track of stopping Hayden. "Okay, so, we all think that Hayden and Morris could be at a cottage at Mirror Lake. We have no idea where it is. Have you ever been there?" Mal asks as her and I both look at Ben for answers, "Yeah, Mirror Lake is where the Enchanted Lake starts." Ben looks around and I can tell that he is looking for someone, "Where is Fairy Godmother when you need her?" He asks and I sigh not sure if even the power of Fairy Godmothers wand is any match for the powers of the Underworld. 

"I wish I knew." Jane says as Carlos and she have a private moment to themselves."Doug! Go with Jane. We need to find Fairy Godmother." Ben says placing his hand on Doug's shoulder, "They might need some muscle." Uma says tapping Ben on his forearm, "Hey." Doug says out loud offended as Uma and I look at him hoping that we didn't hurt his feelings too much, "Well, I'll go." Gil says as he looks at his muscles, "Yeah, actually. I would feel better." Carlos says with his arm around Jane. 

"Yeah,actually, I'd feel better, too." Evie says giving Doug an apologetic look,"Same." Mal says stepping up beside Evie, "Sorry Doug, but I agree with everyone else." I say as Harry comes up behind me and wraps his arms around me,"Ye will be safe with Gil, you have me word." Harry says inclining his hook,"Actually, I would, too." Doug says sighing as Gil slaps him on his back and slings his arm over his shoulder, "All right, man. Let's do this." Gil turns his attention to Carlos and Jane.

"Let's go Jane." Gil says as Jane smiles pulling out of Carlo's embrace. "Be careful, okay?" Carlos says to Jane who nods her head, "I will." She says as herself, Gil, and Doug all walk off and the rest of us head inside to come up with a plan of our own.
