Chapter 21: Forgetting the Past

Heidi's POV

Once we are sure that it is over everyone starts celebrating with one another, "Yeah!" We all say and I have to say that we actually worked better as team then I thought we would. "We did that." Uma says high fiving me which when we look at each other we both can't believe that just happened, "That's what I'm talk..." Uma starts as her and Mal almost high each other but stop before they do. Jay and Harry high five, Clay and Harry bump chest, and Gil and Carlos bump chests. My brother and Jay heads out of the room to make sure that cost stays clear. Each group look at each other with same look of confusion, "No." I say as I see Clay and Gil on one side of the room again and Harry and Carlos on the other side.

Clay and Gil meet up with Uma while Harry, Carlos, and I meet up with Evie and Mal."Guys, come on. This was so great." Evie says standing in middle, "We were a team. We worked together. Come on." Evie reaches for Mal but she brushes her off, "Come on." Evie turning her attention to Uma and reaches for her but just like Mal Uma just brushes her off making Evie let out a sigh as she sits on the steps, "You know what we should try? An icebreaker." I smile at my group who just look at me annoyed as they let out a series of groans, "I learned this in Ms. Alice's cooperation class. You say something you really like about the other person, okay? I'll start."

I look at three of them until I decide who I will pick, "Clay." Clay closes his eyes letting out a small groan, "Great accent." Clay looks at me surprised that I actually gave him a compliment instead of insulting him. "Now you go?" Uma looks past me and over to Mal and the rest of the group, "Is she always this perky, because the Heidi I used to know was nothing like the shell of her former shelf that stands in front of us now." I close my eyes taking in a deep breath so I don't ring Uma's neck,

"Oh,it wasn't really your turn, but thank you." I say opening my eyes and smiling at her. "Okay. Heidi, come here." Mal lightly grabs my arm and pulls me off to the side, "Yeah." I look at her and as she looks into my eyes she can tell that is taking everything in my not to explode right now. "I love you." Mal takes my hands in hers, "I love you." I say back as Harry walks up behind Mal. "I love this energy, but we are very short on time." Mal points to the suits as Hadie and Jay walk back into the room, "Hayden clearly knows that we're here and especially you, which means we need to get out here, ASAP." I just simply nod my head letting out of Mal's hands and walking over to Harry who wraps his arms around me, 

"Good try princess." He whispers giving me a gently kiss on my lips. "All right,where does this Heidi knock off version bunk down? Even if she's not there, we might find some sort of clue." Uma eyes all of us like we are stupid for not thinking of that before she did. "Actually, she never really had a place of her own, she always used Heidi's dorm." Evie stands up and a light bulb goes off in my head, "She had to use my room with Ella because it is what I used during my summer classes, and being near Harry and Henry would have caused her to lose control of the body." I say and the room fill and echoes with Clay's laughter, 

"What?Summer School? SUMMER SCHOOL! No wonder she wants revenge." He chokes out through his uncontrollable laughter, "Unlike you Clay some of us want to further ourselves so we don't become our parents." Jay snaps at Clay who stops laughing right away, "It wasn't that long ago that you and every other kid on the isle wanted nothing more than to be your parents, just because I haven't lost my sense of Isle pride doesn't mean that any of you are better than us." He says pointing his hunting knife at us,

"We haven't forgot about the Isle, the isle has forgotten about us." I say defending not just myself but the rest of my friends, "When I made my choice that night on the boat, I knew that deep down in my heart that it was best for me, I was nothing back on the Isle except a waste of space when it came to my father and an errand rat for you Uma." I step up to Uma getting get her face,"And if we don't stop Hayden here in Auradon, then the isle doesn't stand a chance because now that she is Queen of the Underworld she will be stronger if that barrier comes down and her powers connect to the Underworld." 

Uma just looks at ground then back at me, "Don't think this changes anything, you are still at the very top of my list of people I want to bring down." I let out a laugh Unphased by Uma's comment, "I'm not sacred of you anymore Uma, and to be honest you were more scary when we were all trapped under that barrier." Mal is one to get in the middle of Uma and me breaking us up, "Okay. I need you guys to find Ben." Mal who judging from the look in her eyes is over Uma and the gang being in Auradon. "We will meet back at Evie's in two hours, okay?"Mal looks at everyone to make sure that we are all clear on the plan. "Sounds like we're going with my plan. I'm just saying." Uma remarks starting yet another argument with Mal which is just wasting more of our time.

"It was kind of the obvious plan." Mal claps her hands together wanting to end this argument but Uma won't let that happen until she gets the final word. "Uma said it first." Gil blurts out as Uma and Clay just stand there looking at Mal and the rest of us. "Right. So my plan." Uma turns her attention to Gil and then to Clay, "Whatever." Mal walks out of the room as the guy's head off to find Ben and us girls go back to dorm to search for any clues that Hayden might have left.
