After a few more shed tears and making our relationship official, we decided to keep it on the down low as much as possible. Our way back to London was relatively silent, I was still in recovery so I had to stay in secluded parts of our travel means, with the lights off and with headphones on that blocked out all of the noise. And according to Fallon he carried me from boat to train because I was out like a log.
Also, according to Fallon, Philip got pretty jealous about it.
So when we were back in London and headed to the headquarters' underground bar, maybe just a little high on pain killers but happy to be able to see the sun again, I locked pinkies with Philip as we walked. The male blushed, but did his obvious best to keep it cool as we followed behind the others. I giggled lightly as Fallon's loud voice was shut up by Dorothea, who reminded him I was still healing.
Philip was always a hard head, and would probably yell in anyone's face if he caught them staring at me, (like he did multiple times with Yuliy) but recently when I've started to make my moves on him, he'd give small signs of great appreciation. Like right now, when he squeezed my pinky lightly and met eyes with me, giving me a small look that showed just a little bit of how much he cared.I sighed in content, laying my head back on the edge of the couch, Philip lent on the arm rest cleaning his Violin's bow. Dorothea with a cup of Wiskie and Fallon with some tea - though I was forbidden to drink anything but water so I stubbornly opted to not drink anything at all.
It was almost silent as Willard read an article out of the front page news.
"One of the mysteries of the Ark of Sirius is the fact that there is no description concerning it's use going back 5,000 years. I learned an important fact in Dogville; the creatures of this planet are not at all capable of handling the Ark in it's original form. Because of this the counterpart of the Ark was created, it was that counterpart which allowed the Sirius tribe to final harness it's incredible power. But - astounded by it's shear force, they felt there was no need to try to use it's power at all. Perhaps they intrusted it to the Sirius of future generations."
"They were hoping for someone like Yuliy." Dorothea confirmed, smiling lightly at the thought of him.
"Yeah. Thanks to that, the whole world is after him." Fallon continued, setting his tea cup back down on it's little plate. I didn't know if it was still the effects of the concussion or if it was just me, but Fallon with a tiny little tea cup in his gigantic hands was hard to comprehend.
"And now we're involved too." Philip grumbled, though I knew he was more okay with that then he probably should be.
"I can't believe they'd rather search for him then exterminate the vampires." Dorothea sighed, a disappointed look on her face. One day, she'd probably take over headquarters all together - or something dramatic, for that matter.
"Yuliy was fully aware this would happen when he broke the seal, but he still did what he had to do." Willard announced, the ring of the phone silencing us all for good. I lifted my head slowly, my eyes followed Willard's movements and I listened closely as he took the message from the bartender.
"It's from headquarters." He began, confirming all of our suspicions, "A girl that seems to be a royal was seen with a young man in Khabarovsk. What do you think?"
"It could be him." Philip mumbled in reply.
"I guess." Dorothea shrugged, "But- with a royal?"
"I mean, who else would casually walk around with a royal vampire other than another vampire?" I wondered allowed.
"Do you think he became one of them?"
"Hell no that would never happen!" Philip yelled, running up into Fallon's face to break him out of whatever train of thought he was having.
"Time to get ready!" Willard announced, and I turned from Philip to the professor as he slipped on his jacket.
"Does headquarters want us to capture the guy?"
"I don't like that we're doing this to a friend." Fallon quickly said, his voice defensive.
"Are you sure you're okay with this, professor?" Philip asked.
"Not in the slightest. And that is exactly why we must hurry. The entire world is going after our associate now. So lets find him first, like only we can do."
"You got a point there. We can figure o-"
"Yeah whatever, let's get going! I gotta check the amo!"
"I'll get the car!" Fallon called after the young blonde, and I tensed as Philip grabbed my hand,
"Come on Ariel, let's hurry!"
I smiled, letting him pull me off the couch and towards the coat rack before we ran out the door. I giggled behind him, glancing up at the dark sky and the few stars that shined bright enough to be seen past London's street lights. The group of us had merely just gotten back to the city, but I suppose that leading a life like this meant barley any down time.
Which, honestly, I thought as I watched Philip count over the amo cases and make sure I had my swords, excited to get going as soon as possible so we could see Yuliy again, this is the life I was meant for. A life I'm more than happy to keep on living.-
"It's almost been a year, huh?"
I smiled lightly, feeling his gaze on me as I held to the side of the plane and he clung to it. We had travelled far, leaving V shipping behind and taking up a new meaning of the Jaeger that we identified as. My world changed so fast right before my eyes, but even though I've always been hesitant to take such large risks, I wasn't alone this time and I didn't have any reason to be afraid. Sometimes I even wondered if I'd ever be alone again, but then I would shake my head and tell myself to think of something else - think of Philip - because as long as I was with him I would always feel fulfilled.
And now, even though we're still fighting for Yuliy and the protection of the Arc, I feel like I've been fighting for myself too. I'm starting to find myself, as Ariel and not just as a Jaeger. All because of Philip, of course, and even because of Yuliy.
"I swear, Ariel." He hissed, "Don't you even dare."
"Sorry, love." I mused, glancing at him to see his menacing glare. Even though he was almost 16 now, he still didn't look much taller.
Because Yuliy had took the burden of the Arc he had to leave us behind, and now that half the worlds Jaegers and Vampires were after him, he had to go into hiding. He hid so well that no one could find him - not even us, but he still found a way to communicate. And now, after a full year of following far behind him and fighting for him and our just cause, he was finally allowing us to see him for real.
"This is our stop!"
"Ariel do not jump out of this plane- Ariel!"

Fanfiction"Really, are you doing okay?" Philip poked at me again and I frowned, wishing I could control how my emotions were shown better - like Yuliy. "You trying to set Yuliy up with Ryoko, it's annoying." I mumbled. "Seriously?" His tone changed quick, "Yo...
