Chapter eighteen

Third pov

Andy watched Aro's eyes widen as Renesmee let go.

"Fascinating."

Andy did not like that tone.

"Simply fascinating. Half mortal, half immortal. Conceived and carried by the newborn Bella while she was still human."

"Impossible-"

Aro's head almost whipped in Caius direction. "Do you think they've foled me, brother?"

Caius backed off.

Andy put Nessie down and let her return to her parents, fully aware of her mates watching her.

"Are you willing to take my word now? Or are you going to continue insisting for a fight?" Andy's voice was firm and her eyes seemed to be able to look through anything.

Both set of potential fighters on either side of the field (except Charlotte and Yoda- i mean Peter) were suprised that the young vampiress had the courage to talk like that to the kings.

When she saw Aro hesitating she added. "I'm on their side in this and i can assure you that I'm the one vampire here that can kill everyone." She said it low enough so only he could hear.

The next thing she said so everyone could here. "As you can see, no laws have been broken."

Aro was torn between deep irritation and admiration. Their mate was an opponent to be reckoned with but at the same time he was used to the submissive, quit women from his time.  "Agreed. But does that really mean there is no danger?"

Aro stepped to adress the volturi's witnesses. "For the first time in history, humans pose a threat to our kind. Their modern technology have given birth to weapons that can destroy us."

As he talked Andy gritted her teeth. 'Oohh, i so want to hit him.' She though as she walked back to her coven.

"Maintaining our secret has never been more important. In such perilous times, only the known is safe. Only the known is tolerable. And we have no idea what this child will become. Can we spare ourselves a fight today... Only to die tomorrow?"

Alice and Jasper entered the clearing. Andy watched as they went up to the vampires across the clearing, intending to show her mates a vision she had had. She tuned most of it out until two more people came out of the trees. One of them had the same kind of heartbeat that Nessie has.

The usual burning hunger was starting to claw in her throat again and it was a relief when the other witnesses left. Though her mates were still there.

Charlotte gave Andy an encouraging nod. "Go on. We'll be here when you come back."

Andy smiled slightly and hugged her before following the kings into the woods for a long since needed talk.
