The dinner table was unusually silent. As usual, Mina had laid out a wonderful spread of dishes, but this was the only time that Chaeyoung didn't really have an appetite. The only thing that was on her mind was worry about Mina. The image of Mina crying was weighing down on her shoulders, refusing to let Chaeyoung rest easy. This was all her fault.
Mina seemed fine on the outside though. She was eating as normal, and her expression was as usual. Calm. Pretty. Chaeyoung clenched her fists. She hated herself for taking advantage of such a beautiful person.
Mina noticed that Chaeyoung wasn't eating, and spooned some meat and vegetables into Chaeyoung's bowl. Mina made eye contact with Chaeyoung, as if she was telling her to eat up. Chaeyoung quickly looked down and listened to Mina, eating despite not being very hungry. It was still dead silent.
Changmin hadn't noticed this strange silence yet, since he was busy checking his phone for work emails. It was only until towards the end of the meal when he realised something wasn't right.
"Is something wrong? Why isn't anyone talking?" He asked, breaking the silence.
Chaeyoung didn't respond, not knowing how to. Mina quickly jumped in to save the situation. "Chaeng is just a bit stressed at school. She has some tests coming up. Isn't that right?"
Chaeyoung was a bit thrown off by how good Mina was at lying, but she went along with it and nodded.
"I see," Changmin responded, buying Mina's story. "I'm glad that you're taking your studies more seriously now, Chaeyoung. But don't worry too much. Just try your best and you'll do fine."
"Thanks, dad," Chaeyoung replied.
After dinner, Changmin was once again out of the house for his night shift at the office. Being a CEO was tough work. But before Chaeyoung realised it, Mina was already out of sight, probably upstairs in her room. Chaeyoung couldn't let this night slip away without doing anything. She needed to talk to Mina.
So Chaeyoung paced around in the empty living room for a while, mustering up some courage, before heading upstairs to Mina's room. She knocked on the door.
"Um... Mina?"
There was no response for a few seconds. But then, instead of hearing Mina's voice, the door opened, and Mina stood on the other side. She looked fine.
"Chaeng. Come in."
Chaeyoung went into Mina's room, and Mina closed the door behind them both. She gestured for Chaeyoung to sit on the bed, and she did, and Mina joined her too.
Chaeyoung waited for Mina to say something. To say something about the blowjob. To scold her. To yell at her. To cry. But Mina just looked at Chaeyoung with an unreadable expression for an unbearably long amount of time, and Chaeyoung was getting uncomfortable.
Finally, Mina said," Chaeng, I'm sorry."
Chaeyoung's eyes nearly bulged out of her head. "Wh- Why...? Why are you sorry? I should be the one-"
Mina cut her off. "It doesn't matter. You're a minor, so you can feel whatever you want. I should be responsible for your wellbeing, since I'm your adult guardian. And I should never have done that."
Chaeyoung blinked. She was feeling even worse now. If Mina had just screamed at her instead, she would've probably felt a lot less guilty.
"Why aren't you angry...?" Chaeyoung asked.
Mina smiled. "Because no matter what, I still love you."
